Captain Sully Relives Hudson Miracle

1/10/2010 1:25 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Captain Chesley B. Sullenberger flew back to the same exact spot where he dominated a flock of devil geese who nearly ruined his day back in 2009 -- only this time, Sully was in a chopper ... and dude stayed out of the Hudson.

It was all for a special airing tonight at 9 PM on TLC, in which Sully -- and nearly everyone associated with Flight 1549 -- relives that fateful moment when our brave hero piloted his way into the pantheon of outstanding American badasses.

The show's called "Brace for Impact" ... we're bracing for more Suuuuuuuuuulllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

To answer your question....YES. But when it comes to someone like SUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY.....NO!

And to the other person who said Sully didn't want attention but is sure in the media a lot...remember....the media is seeking out Sully, not the other way around.

Yay Sully!!!!

Don't know if you guys know this but that USAirways take off in the beginning of this video, is the actual takeoff back in October 2009, which was Captain Sully and Co-Pilot Jeffrey Skiles first flight from NYC to Charlotte.

Yada yada yada. ANY airline pilot will tell you that 10 out of 10 pilots could make this landing under these conditions 10 out of 10 times. They run this scenario constantly in the simulator. Sully most likely will be the first person to admit this. Lets keep this feat in true context, which is minimal compared to ANY U.S. soldier on the ground in Iraq. Last time I checked, Sully didn't have to land this plane under enemy fire. People, please.

I think its funny that some people are tired of hearing about him. We've hardly heard about him? And honestly, he deserves the attention. He saved a whole airplane full of people and landed on a body of water. Hes a true American hero!

Thank you Sully!

I saw the account of this landing on a video not too long ago.

Capt. Sully had literally seconds to sit the plane down in the Hudson River and he had to do it in such a way as to keep the plane intact. If he approached the river too fast the plane would be totally destroyed, if he tipped the plane forwards or backwards too much on approach the plane would break into pieces.

While listening to the tape his voice was so calm and he sat that big baby down flat on the river. The landing was perfect.

The hair on my arms stood up after listening to that tape. He is a freaking awesome pilot. My hat is off to him. He is truly a hero and I will definitely be watching this tonight.

Seacrest is a Shorty

I think this guy has gotten enough attention. I live near his home in Northern California. The drycleaner has an autographed picture of him over her door, the local variety store has a calendar, one of his hats is on Ebay, he's been given the Key to the City. He's been on the cover of numerous magazines, appeared on Leno, Conan, Oprah and Letterman. He was the Grand Marshall of the Rose Bowl Parade and he appeared at the Super Bowl halftime show last year. He's been to the White House and the inauguration and has had personal phone calls from two U.S. Presidents. It is amazing how we glorify the things and people that really should be given a moment's praise and then we should move on to issues of community, environment and the world. We live in a narcissistic society. The man was "just doing his job".....his words.

What about the guy who jumped over the bank of seats to stop the underwear bomber? Wasn't he a hero?
