I'm just glad that I can DVR Jimmy Fallon. His show is refreshing and I don't fit into the target demographic.
This whole emphasis by the affiliates about what/who their lead in is kind of makes me wonder. I mean, how good are their newscasts if people are too lazy or disinterested to change the channel to watch them?
It sounds like the affiliates depend on people watching their newscasts at 11:00 by means of osmosis.
Jay rules. Jay put NBC in #1 and NBC screwed him. Now they are determined to pull him down even more. Since Jay stopped the late show I stopped watching. Sometimes I will watch Jimmy Kimmell. The others are idiots. Has the network thought about that maybe people do just go to bed to get rest for work in the morning, because what there is to offer is crap.
Jay's face, morals, humor intelligence, and class is way above what the others have to offer.
Jay Leno's following is an OLDER CROWD. Maybe instead of throwing out his money to bump Conan, he should have tried to fight for a sooner slot.
If Conan moves to Fox then I guess so will millions
Not sure how Conan's contract reads.. but I am sure he is protected ..
Not a Jay fan.. think TMZ has better writers and is more fun! I met Conan, just once and more than 15 years ago, in NBC's cafeteria. He was having lunch by himself and the person I was with, who was a former producer at the TODAY show stopped by his table. HE IS SUCH A NICE GUY!!!!!!!!! SWEET, KIND, AUTHENTIC!!! wish him the very best.. good guys should come out ahead..

17. Sloane, Then NBC needs to pony up for Conan moving to a different time slot. How long did Jay Leno take to bank his ratings when he went to "The Tonight Show" after Carson/permanent guest hosting forever?? Instant success? Nope. You must have forgotten but expect the same from Conan. The NBC news stations were complaining loudly about Leno losing business for them, again not Conan's fault. If NBC in charge wants to keep Conan and have him move once again...they should sweeten the honey pot. Jay deserves nothing for getting what he manipulated for.

you may be too young to remember but Jay as a stand=up comedian when he got the Tonight show
occasionally he/Joan Rivers/and a few others would host the show when Johnny wasn't there
he did not come to NBC with a night time show of his own that he had for years like Conan has
so-yes, I expected a bit better ratings for Conan-he was a known commodity, Leno in his early days wasn't but he soon captured his share of the ratings
people didn't like change-some thought Letterman would get the show-so Jay was up against a lot of confusion and resentment in the beginning, but he won everyone over proving that NBC made a good choice
that is why Jay graciously made comments on his show when NBC promised the show to Conan-so as to make the transition smoother and less hostile for Conan than it was for him
and nobody manipulates network execs-
