'Jersey Shore' Kids

Drive Hard Bargain

1/24/2010 11:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0124_jersey_shore_photo-1The "Jersey Shore" kids didn't fall off the pizza delivery truck yesterday -- TMZ has learned they have rejected MTV's salary offer for Season 2.

Sources connected with the negotiation say MTV offered Snooki, Pauly D, "The Situation" and the others each a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 an episode.

We're told the cast rejected the offer and made it clear -- they were negotiating "Friends" style ... everyone would get the same amount and it had to be a lot higher than MTV's offer.

Sources say MTV came back and doubled the offer -- $10,000 an episode. The cast hasn't responded to the offer.

It's still a bargain. The season finale of "Jersey Shore" was off the charts with 4.8 million viewers.

And, with some members of "The Hills" scoring north of $100,000 an episode, the "Jersey Shore" kids, frankly, should be holding out for a hell of a lot more than $10k.

We've also learned MTV has a contractual hold on the cast for another year, so technically Snooki and company have no right to renegotiate -- but it's done all the time with hit shows.

An MTV spokesperson would not comment on the negotiations and said the network has not made a decision on bringing the show back for Season 2. We're also told MTV has received thousands of tapes from would-be Guidos and Guidettes.

Seriously

As an Italian I find these people disgusting. They do not
represent the Italian Community. They're IQ is in the single
digits. I cannot believe people actually watch this crap.
I hope this show gets cancelled asap.

That's really not that much money considering what MTV is making off of them.

I dont think they should hold out for Seinfeld money -- but, strike a balance between keeping them in the public eye and getting what they deserve. (Remember Suzanne Somers anyone?)

I love this show, but 10 grand is clearly more than enough money for them to support themselves. Altough with the price of hair gel and monthly tanning bills......hmm I dunno.

Someday the cast is gonna' have some of the best "Where Are They Now?" stories and photos ever. Snooks will be renting herself out as a blimp. And the rest will be fist-pumping at bar appearances when they're in their 60's. And Pauly? He'll be wearing that stupid hair like Bob Denver wore his lameass Gilligan cap until he died. Maybe even after he died. Is Hollywood Squares off TV? Situation could probably be the center square for a few years if the roids don't get him first.

Enjoy 'em now. They'll be gone in a year and another cast of some yet-to-be-developed show will replace them for the next 15 minutes.

It's to bad we have no other options but to show our that thier only option for good programming is a bunch of guys and girls throwing themselves around and drinking. AT best the police are allowing things to go on that should not. Why are they not arresting these kids? The programming people feel they don't have a choice beacuse it's what our young people are watching.
It's time we took care of the people here in the US taht are straving and no getting drunk. They just need food in their stomach and clothes on the backs. Give them what they want, becasue they are'nt going to give back to the poor anyway.

Great comment by 170.
We move on they go by and how are they remembered? 90210 were a group of kids in the real world to a degree. They did things that were wrong but they were learning and grew to find out what was the right thing to do. I have only watched these Jersey trash kids one time. That was enough. Even my 19 adn 26 year old said they were nothing but trash and that is what they will be remembered for. Thats a good thought hey. Maybe they can tell their kids what great examples they were.
Have a Great Day
