The stars of "Jersey Shore" have been negotiating with MTV like "Friends"... but the network could be turning them into enemies with some serious brinkmanship.
Sources tell TMZ the network has told the cast if they don't accept MTV's deal by the end of business Monday, they will be replaced. And, MTV has told them it does not have to be a package deal -- the cast members who accept the offer will stay ... those who do not can have a nice life.
As we first reported, MTV offered each cast member a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode. We're told the cast rejected the offer and made it clear they would all stand together and hold out for their price, though they didn't say what it was.
MTV made a new offer of $10,000 an episode -- there are 12 episodes in the new season -- but so far the cast hasn't responded.
We're told MTV already has replacements if Snooki, Pauly D, The Situation and the others don't accept the offer on Monday. But, we're told, MTV is happy to mix and match if some of the cast accepts the offer and others don't.
As for who's being the most hard-headed in the negotiations -- The Situation and Pauly D.

I think comment #1 started and finished the thread. Well played.
the girl btw who left early is so gorgeous, hope she returns and hope shes single,so she isnt as sexually frustrated as she was this season
btw they should take the offer, they arent near as valuable as friends....Friends actors started negociating after few years of unmatched success, these kids JUST started lol, they are lucky MTV even offered them a negociation,wow.....take the salary and look for work in film industry while ur 15 minutes are ticking is my advice, dont listen to agents telling u crap bout holding out!
I see one of the cast members is a fan of TMZ (Hi KICKROX!). It's a little early in their careers to have such a sense of entitlement. I hope MTV sticks to their guns and replaces those that do not accept the offer. Personally, I don't think any of them are even worth $7.50 an hour.
MTV could replace these idiots *NO PROBLEM*
I would love to see a returning cast, but if the castmates are trying to play hardball, they should wait for Season 3. 6 figures for a couple weeks of partying and public exposure is a no-brainer to me.
Big ups to PAULY D though. Give the man $20,000 an episode.
I understand these guys make 10 grand per public appearance right NOW, but their fame will fade fast if they don't hold on to it with a tight grip...
Here's the deal and I HOPE the Jersey Shore cast is reading.
Stick together and you can get your price.
Of course they want you back, they know too well, that they can recast you, and it will be a flop.
You guys have great chemistry and laughs....
Mtv is making a small fortune off of your shows and now they want to give you peanuts in return.
Together the cast needs to come up with a fair offer...I say somewhere around $30,000 a show. Tell them that's it or we walk.
If they balk, wait a year I think, until your contract is over, and get a show on another cable network. Someone will give you what you want and in the meantime you can do appearances and even get some roles on TV shows or movies.
Screw Mtv, they have always low-balled their talent, and they think they can bully anyone around. Just stick together, no one balk, and don't ask for the moon, just something that is equitable, and $30,000 an episode is very fair.
I watched the first season because it was ridiculously funny and outrageous. I think MTV should tell the whole lot of them to take a hike and bring some new faces to the show. I don't really want to see the same people fight and hate on each other for another season. The reunion was terrible because everyone hated each other already. Another season might force them to kill each other and id rather see the fist pumping action while they are dancing, not trying to knock each others heads off.
That's a lot of money for a bunch of no talented idiots to party and get drunk on tv. I say take the money, because unemployment is no fun. Not like any of them can really act and Hollywood would be offering them big movie roles anyway.
It's either reality tv or "would you like fries with your order".
Harvey's Mom--
You think those kids can get another show aside from this trash on MTV? Telling them to look at other things in the film industry like roles on tv shows and the movies?
BWAHAHAHAHA!!
Umm...excuse me, sorry for the interruption but daaayum. THAT was one funny post!
Maybe YOU should take over The Tonight Show!
Sorry...but those reality "stars" (loud guffaw) have NO TALENT...unless you consider drunken brawls, fake tans, bumpit wearing but no panties wearing, talent. They better take what they're offered cause "that's all they gonna get"! Lol
Head on back to your Empire State of Mind---and please fade out quickly!
