Murray's Patients: Manslaughter Shmanslaughter

2/11/2010 8:14 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Dr. Conrad MurrayOne involuntary manslaughter charge later ... and Dr. Conrad Murray's patients in Las Vegas still can't wait to put their lives in his hands.

One of his patients -- Marietta Lewis -- claims Dr. Murray is responsible for saving her life, and she told us, "I made sure to call and have my name added to his patient wait list, so that when he comes back, I will still be under his care."

Well he's back ... Dr. Murray was photographed going into his Las Vegas office yesterday, just two days after he was freed on $75,000 bail.

We also spoke with Robert Day, who said he called Dr. Murray's office on Monday -- the day he pled not guilty in the Michael Jackson death case -- to schedule an appointment for today.

Luckily for them, Propofol injections are not an option -- because as part of the terms of Dr. Murray's freedom, he isn't allowed to administer anyone with powerful anesthetics.

Yeah, agreed. It doesn't matter who this guy accidentally killed, the fact is he was still wreckless and negligent as a doctor. His patients are whacked but like someone said earlier, of course they like him cause they can yank him for probably any drug they want. I was watching the court hearing and I think the judge was just as much on crack as Dr. Murray. This guy shouldn't even be allowed practicing medicine, let alone just be on restrictions on sedating people. This dude being a cardiologist isn't even trained to be putting people under. It's a Catch 22, like the judge saying, oh we're only going to stop you only from doing something you actually aren't supposed to do to begin with? Like what? I'll be surprised if this guy even sees a day in jail, he probably won't even go to trial. Lame.

anonymous,

nobody is saying murray is the only one to blame for michael's passing. BUT, he did make that choice or choices to become his doctor, administer all those drugs, walk out of the room while michael was under, and than be on the phone for long period of time also while he was under. and the coroner says michael's body was practically swimming in diprivan. no good doctor would put a human being under with that drug and walk out of the room not monitoring their patient. Not a doctor that was following the oath.
So, does this doctor not need to pay for his actions also?
Michael paid with his life for trying to go the shortcut way for his insomnia. the doctor needs to pay for his actions of negligence and disregard for a human life. simple as that.

It's a simple equation:
1) MJ chose the drugs, he knew what he was getting into so he should have known better,
2)Dr. Murray as well was reckless and negligent and should have known better.

They are both equally to blame but now that MJ's dead, Dr. Murray's a scapegoat.

It's strange but think of this: could anyone imagine the hoo-ha say MJ were to be actually revived after this incident and lived through this whole scenario, what then?

The fact alone that this doc gave a patient (MJ) propofol in a home setting and without proper vital monitoring systems is enough to put him in jail. You cant give that stuff to someone like it's some weak over the counter product! Come on!!!

Again: The fact that Michael wanted propofol has NOTHING to do with Murray's choices. Murray is not a scapegoat. He elected to go along because of the money, he risked - and lost - a man's life because of money. Please don't mix up Michael's need for sleep and lack of judgement as to how he tried to find help, with Murray's responsibility as a doctor. Michael was in denial when it came to the dangers of this drug, but he wasn't a doctor. Murray is. Murray knew there is a VERY fine line between putting someone under with propofol and killing him. The patient can stop breathing any second.

Murray is completely guilty. There are NO excuses for him.

i agree with you A.B. Just because Michael asked for it does not mean Murray had to give it. than being so reckless and negligent.
walking out of the room after putting someone under with that drug.

just total disregard for a human life period.

Murray did not even have a continuous IV drip to keep MJ hydrated and the blood volumes high enough to keep his heart pumping; also to provide access if he needed to give another drug as an antidote. No heart and respiratory monitoring equipment. Sloppy MD. Nothing to reverse the effects of the medication - negligent. If he had the right equipment in place he could have saved MJ's life even in the home; although prohibited. He could have kept MJ alive long enough to get him to a hospital. Recall: MJ's vital organs were in good condition. Murray, as anyone can see, did not put much value on MJ's life.

Very poor contingency planning. Well, he did not plan his family either. (Children all over the place.) Wreckless disregard for human life and other areas of his life as well. Disorganized and disgusting - anything goes as far as Murray is concerned - he does not care. Let's watch him sweat; the consequences of his actions. I do not feel sorry for him in the least.

Total disrespect for everyone.

Agree. Murray had some makeshift alarm system that didn't work, he also seemed to have difficulties calibrating the propofol drip. For emergency, he had ephedrine, which is not enough by far, according to experts.

I don't know, but Michael was probably long gone when Murray finally saw to him again. If not, Murray may well have killed him by cracking so many of his ribs AND his sternum while providing his pathetic CPR on the bed. There was blood in Michael's lungs. The man is a walking disaster zone.

Involuntary manslaughter is to weak a charge. Involuntary manslaughter means some kind of accident or simple negligence. This is more, since Murray should have been aware of the severe risks and yet did not take precautions. He gambled with his patient's life.

He's obvioulsy an excellent cardiologist. No one is debating his capabilities as a well trained cardiologist. Unfortunately, he's also a murderer! He should have told Michael Jackson HELL NO and walked away. There is no denying MJ was an addict, but it's Dr. Murray's fault MJ's dead.

For the right price, Dr. Murray will perform open heart surgery in a garage surrounded by auto parts while the mechanic next to him does an oil change on the Sanford and Sons' truck.

This is nothing but Dr. Conrad Murderer’s PR crap! Dr. Death is a real piece of work. He can pay a PR firm to try to convene people he is competent but he can’t pay his child support for his kids. Throw that lying piece of garbage in the slammer and take away his license! Murdering Murray is not fit to treat a pet rock.
