Trump: Bret Michaels in 'Big, Big Trouble'

4/26/2010 1:06 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Donald Trump tells TMZ Bret Michaels is in "big, big trouble and the prognosis is not great."

Michaels is a contestant on this season's "Celebrity Apprentice" and, ironically, Trump says Michaels' scrappiness is the best thing he has going for him.

As Trump put it, "He turns out to be an amazing competitor and ultimately that is the thing that could save his life."

Trump, who is in touch with people in the hospital where Michaels remains in critical condition, thinks Michaels' fall on stage back in 2009 -- where he hit his head -- may have something to do with the recent turn of events, though we can't confirm this from Michaels' people.

Has anyone thought maybe... the incident when the stage "sign" at the 2009 Tony Awards show was lowered (by an idiotic stage person) and hit Brett in the head - possibly caused an internal brain injury (slow bleeding) - that might have been worsened by another event or just progressed on its' own? We are pulling for you (Brett)in Canada.

P.S. the Tony awards sucked long before "the incident".

Trump: Can you imagine the parents of Kelli ... when she said, 'Mom, Dad, I just fell in love with a big, fat pig named Rosie'?"

Maybe the bandanna heated his head too much?

Yes that stage accident and the hitting of the head is a potential culprit...particularly if he didnt get adequate rest and recovery for it. Kind of like in hockey these days, they hit their heads on the boards or the ice, they are out of the game and usually sit for a week nowadays, whereas, even as recently as 2 years ago they simply took smelling salts and jumped back in the game. Head injuries of any kind are something to take very seriously, and rest and observation are the usual remedies.
Left untreated, or rushed back onto stage or the craft to quickly, it can and will result in something more serious.
Not sure Trump should be the hospital spokesperson, he's a cheap vaudeville entertaining shuckster now vs some kind of real estate, business mogul. He's declared bankruptcy twice, cant stay married and has never taken a drink in his life--so his excuses for being so weird are few. May Bret make a full recovery.

Hoping Bret heals and is around for a very long time to come. Excuse and forgive, if you can, the unkind, mean-spirited remarks
of others on this post. This man is fighting for his life. His children don't want to lose their father. His parents don't want to lose their son. Put yourself in their shoes before making such hateful comments. Holding nothing but good, healing thoughts for Bret.

Everything is an opportunity for self-promotion with this media whore. Shut up Trump, you suck as a business man and you're certainly not a Doctor.

A fall from a year ago couldn't affect/cause this type of hemorrage. I have the degree to back that comment up...

Trump can think it but why does he have to say it - not like he's the family spokesperson!

Go Bret - my favorite Poison memory is when he introduced one particular song - I hate every bone in your body except mine.

Did anyone stop to think maybe all the drug use and drinking and smoking finally caught up to the old man w/ diabetes?

#27. He's 47. Not a kid, but I wouldn't call a 47 year old an old man.

Jude - Your comments are sincere and I agree with you 100%. People should focus on the real issue - Brett's Health - rather than Donald Trumps motives - although I believe Donald is an uber-douche.

Seriously people, the Tony's were 10 months ago. It is more likely his diabetes, drinking, and appendectomy, or a combo that has done this. Do you really want to agree with Trump on anything medical related?

God bless him!! I have been watching C.A. ONLY because he is still on. I didn't think so highly of him because of Rock Of Love, but now I see him a different light!!

He deserves a great recovery and I hope God grants it to him so that he can use his positive energy for a better good.

Get well Brett!
