'Sopranos' Star to Obama:

Turn Off Jersey Shore!

5/7/2010 9:54 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Sopranos" star Steve Schirripa has a serious bone to pick with Barack Obama -- all because the Prez is watching "Jersey Shore!"

Sopranos star Steve Schirripa's message to Obama -
After ripping the reality cast for being "a different species of Italian," we asked Steve what he thought about Obama giving the "JS" crew a shout-out during the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.

Let's just say ... Steve isn't too happy with The Prez -- check out the clip.

That JS show is a total abortion and more offensive to Italians than all the gangster movies put together.

I have NEVER watched this stupid show, but I've read plenty about it (can't seem to get away from it). I spent most of my summers IN the Jersey Shore and can't fathom how that fat, ugly pig-woman nicknamed "Snooki" ever get on TV and who would watch this? Why does the American public like to make pseudo-celebrities out of such losers ? Get your own life, please.

The man is absolutely right. That show is just another example of the decline of the American empire. Obama fiddles while America burns? Tanking economy, oil spills, Obamacare, soaring deficits....and meanwhile pretty boy watches MTV. No wonder this country is going to hell in a hand-basket. Here we fight the communists for over 50 years and we elect one president? Time we quit choosing our leaders from the cover of People magazine.

I agree with Princess Ginger. Steve Schirripa is talking out of both sides of his mouth with this comment. I don't care if he merely portrayed a character on the Sopranos. Doesn't anyone remember the hue and cry after it first started airing about how it misrepresents American Italians?? He might have been portraying a character but I bet most people understand that character was based on what is known to genuine. I'm not Italian but would be proud to be one for sure. I don't think the Jersey Shore people represent what 99% of Italians are like. The Jersey shore is FUNNY. People - anyone who takes them seriously or believes that is what Italians are like is a dolt. Even the characters are starting to become caricatures of themselves. Most Italians are great people. Italy is a country of massive charm, culture, intelligence and beauty. We know Mike the Situation, Snookie who isn't even Italian, etc., are not even close to being what most respectable Italians are like. Get over it already. The Jersey shore program is funny. Nothing more than that, just funny.

Good for Steve Schirripa! Unemployment is at 9.9%, Obamacare has the U.S. on a march towards socialism, and Obama is not serious about national security. The administration is actually negotiating with Egypt on Egypt's demands to put sanctions on Israel while completely ignoring the threat from Iran. It is amateur hour at the Whitehouse.

Big Kudos to Steve! Nice to see that there are still celebrities out there who have a good head on their shoulders and are not afraid to go against the grain of the majority of liberal Hollywood. Hopefully the rest of America wakes up November and restores of country from this disaster of a President.

I come from a mixed heritage and my late beloved Grandmother Isabella (May God rest her soul)was Siciliana. Undoubtedly, Mr. Schirripa's perspectives are shared by many, many, good Americans.
En Masse resignations by politicians in Washington, D.C., would be
unsurprisingly expected and most welcomed.

I agree with you N.O. Lady. How else would George W. have been elected not once, but TWICE?

Of course dumbo ears watches Jersey Shore. Just like he plays golf every single day, goes on comedy shows, ESPN, expensive dates on the tax payer's dime, sports events, vacations, you name it. He is doing everything but leading. What a complete and utter failure. I'm embarrassed to be an American.

Riiiiight, because it is good to emulate the murdering, criminal kind of Italian, but not the mindless partier kind.

Brilliant.
Spoken like a true idiot, I mean Italian.
