'Lost' Spoiler -- Where Jack Ends Up

5/12/2010 12:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

With the series finale in 11 days, Matthew Fox is finally getting off the remote "Lost" island and moving to ... this house in a remote section of Oregon.

The 43-year-old purchased this $1.5 million home on over 10 acres of property on the outskirts of Bend, Oregon (population 77,780).

After "Lost," Fox has said he's done working in television ... assuming he can get reception, he'll at least have a lot of space to watch TV.

Karen1109, the money Fox paid was for the lot not the house. He's building the house himself. As I said he paid $1.5 million for the lot in 2007. Where TMZ got $2.5 millin from, I have no idea. Fox also owns another smaller house in another phase of Broken Top (purchased in 2007) and a third house in a different development that he bought in 2008. It's clear that he's planned to live at least part time in Bend for 3 or more years. While Bend's economy has really taken a beating, it has been on more than one Top 100 places to live in America list.

yeah...many of you are off. I live in Bend and it is a very lucrative market...lots of money is true that unemployment is high and real estate took a hit but it is a beautiful area and is rebounding....i'm sure he's out by pronghorn which is an exclusive golf community with a jack nicklaus designed course.

I will never understand people who build homes like this. How much waste wood is involved when there is a CURVE to the whole backside of the house? Economically the best shape of a home would be rectangular or square, since that would be less cutting of boards. Just my 2 cents.

Not a realtor and I don't live in Bend. Without a doubt Bend was one of, if not the, most overheated market in Oregon. Financially Fox would have been better off doing a lot of other things than buying an overpriced lot in 2007. My statement about Bend being on some best places to live lists, was just trying to point out that the characterization of the location as remote is a joke, when it's on the edge of a good sized city within a large, master-planned community not farm from Bend's city center.

Like David Caruso and others, who say "I'm done with TV", he will be back. In 'CSI Bend OR'!

I live in Bend. It is far from a poor town. it's a beautiful place to live. My old state is having a poor hiring rate for jobs also, so it's not just Bend.

Guess what's not in Bend?

TMZ henchmen and pollution.

What is?

Some of the best breweries in the country, a premier ski resort and tons of great weed.

Enjoy your traffic and pathetic motel like ****roach infested apartment for $$$$$ rent LA.

Thank you Jakee, we may be not as big as LA or Hawaii, but we're no crappy town that doesn't get reception. We're proud to have Matthew and his stripper from Starz LOL

Whatever.. everyone keep thinking that Bend is this small po dunk town cause maybe that will mean we can keep it at a decent size then. Nevermind that we have a nice population (80k not 50 like it was roughly 6 years ago, and thats without the surrounding areas), great lakes for hiking and boating, and a wonderful backyard full of mountains for skiing. And for whoever said that they lived in Bend but couldn't handle the rain i would like to wonder what Bend you were living in because Bend is in the High Desert meaning we are on the other side of the mountain with little to no rain. Maybe you are thinking of Portland, Salem, or Eugene? But like i said keep thinking what you will all of us in Bend know what kind of Gem our home town is.

Are you kidding me TMZ? Bend is remote? Sure okay. 80,000 people live in Bend, plus many other communities near by. It's nestled against the Cascades with so much to do there, it's an outdoor lover's dream and enough shopping/fine dining to keep everyone else happy. You seriously need to get your facts straight. I grew up in Central Oregon, and I'd give ANYTHING to get back there. Central Oregon is the best part of Oregon, hands down. Do your research before you talk. OH, and it's true, California sucks. Oregon > Crapifornia.

This picture doesn't do this area justice...his home has incredible views of all the cascade mountains and is located in the high end elite area of Broken Top. Bend is far from poor its supported by thousands of rich Californians who have retired or moved to the area..Bend is an incredible place to live and play especially if you love the outdoors..skiing, rafting, biking, hiking...and 300 plus days of sunshine!
