Ex Hot Dog Eating Champ

Arrested at Nathan's Event

7/4/2010 6:24 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Former Nathan's International Hot Dog Eating Contest champion Takeru Kobayashi was arrested by NYPD officers after he tried to rush the stage following today's event.

Kobayashi did not participate in this year's event due to some kind of contract dispute he had with Major League Eating. After Joey Chestnut won, Kobayashi tried to get on stage but was taken away by police.

Kobayashi was charged with resisting arrest, trespass and obstructing governmental administration.

This is some serious ****, it's already been on CNN. I bet they make a movie about it. Remember the blueberry pie eating contest where the guy projectile vomited? That would make a great scene.

These eating competitions are big business. The competitors make a lot of money at these events and can easily make a career out of it. Kobayashi, a Japanese citizen, has won this event many years in a row and the American buisnesses don't like it. It's embarassing for these American hot dog companies to sponsor something that an American can't win, so they make rules so he can't compete.

There's major drama to be had here. I'm sure you'll hear a lot more about this.

Kobayashi cheated in the past. He could not compete on a level playing field. The new rules solved that problem.

...the new rules being that he isn't allowed to compete

It's ridiculous there are "contracts" involved in these contests, it's ridiculous Kobayachi tried to rush the stage like a kamikaze pilot, and Joey Chestnut's stomach? You guessed it, RIDICULOUS.

Gee, Just like anything else, Corporate America is getting its fingers into it. Money to be had. Now trying to tell a man when he can eat, where he can eat and how much he can eat. This damn country is going to fall apart. Some 4th of July. Freedom my ass. I say let him compete. We dont need a Eating League with contracts. Wow Nathans should be proud on the 4th. Hate their damn hotdogs anyways.
