Melissa Etheridge's former domestic partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, has filed legal docs asking for full custody of their twin children.
TMZ broke the story ... Melissa filed for dissolution of their domestic partnership. In Melissa's docs, she filed for joint legal and physical custody.
But now, Tammy has thrown down the gauntlet, asking for full legal and physical custody. Tammy carried the twins to term, after being impregnated by an anonymous sperm donor.
Tammy, just like Melissa, says in her docs irreconcilable differences as the reason to end their partnership.
Tammy is also asking for spousal support.
Last thing ... it looks like Tammy made a mistake. She filed a dissolution of marriage rather than a dissolution of domestic partnership. The two did not qualify to marry during the time that they established their union.

I hope tammy gets the kids. She ended her career to raise their beautiful children. She is their mother. Melissa should go back to her real love, music. BTW lesbian marriages have a divorce rate 176% higher than the national average. I'm just sayin......

Gay or Straight its suppose to be a bond for life, not just cause it was a good thing at the time,that's why some people live together for a long time. I am 42 an never been married,but i live with my boyfriend for 17yrs. Marriage is a big step to take and a commitment not to take lightly.

And, what is going on with Melissa's other two children? Does she see them? They should look there to decide whether she should have joint custody of these two.

I hope Tammy gets every dime she deserves and the children. Melissa has to many children by to many women, she needs to take care of the ones she has and stop hurting people.
