LeBron James -- The Coldest Cut of All

7/9/2010 5:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

LeBron James couldn't have possibly predicted just how much he'd piss off New Yorkers last night -- because now he's facing backlash from the most powerful Jewish deli ever.

0709_lebron_james_deli_GETTY_EX1
The world-famous Carnegie Deli -- home of the best rice pudding on Earth -- is sticking it to LeBron the best way it can ... by discontinuing a sandwich it named after the guy.

See, a few weeks ago ... when LeBron was toying with the emotions of New Yorkers by pretending to be interested in the Knicks, the deli created a mega-sandwich in his honor ... a foot-high turkey, pastrami, corned beef, brisket, American cheese, lettuce, tomato spectacle stacked on rye bread.

But now that LeBron dissed the Big Apple ... the deli is dumping the sando.

FYI -- the sandwich sold for $19.95 -- but some things money can't buy ... like loyalty.

The whole announcement seemed like much-ado about nothing. LeBron is entitled to choose any city he wants. But if you string someone along, don't be surprised when they're angry.

He toyed with Cleveland and New York before picking Miami. It doesn't take an hour to tell someone that you're leaving them.

P.S. I'm sure Ari thought it was a nice touch to give the ad rev to Boys and Girls Club, but that went over like a lead balloon: you don't try to make money off of someone else's misery. LeBron's departure will probably mean a loss of a lot of money in Cleveland's economy.

@maxandruby/allysa - for everybody that thinks lebron doesn't owe cleveland anything...you are wrong. cleveland built lebron james and without the cavs who knows where he would be. he went to miami in search of a ring and i hope he chokes at the championship like he did here in cleveland. lebron is a girk and i am surprised he didn't go to new york becuase didn't he show his love for them when he wore his yankees hat to an important indians game that took place in his hometown. stop blaming the owner and start blaming the idiot who left the city that he had in the palm of his hand

PLEASE explain to me how he's going for an easy championship in Miami? If he wanted an easy championship he would've just gone to LA! STFU with "he owes Cleveland" he doesn't owe them ****. He put in 7 years & the fkn team couldn't even support him or help him! He carried the team on his own! And THIS is how the city thanks him? They need to get over it. He put in his time & it got him no where. It's the city/state's fault for putting him on a pedestal & acting like he was their GOD! This is KARMA! And yeah it's real classy with all the bad wishes. Way to show your ass Ohio. And for the idiot who made this sandwich in his honor! That's what you get for doing something before the decision had even been made! You deserve it! Morons.

There will be no ring for Lebron. Wade always gets hurt and the Heat can now only afford league minimum guys to support the trio. They win 50 games and flame out the first round of the playoffs

LeBron doesn't owe Cleveland anything; he gave Cleveland 7 years of excitement! Fans cheered for him, but fans didn't make him. He had to have talent to make it, and he showed that he has plenty of it. It's starting to look like LeBron was just a cash cow for Cleveland. Now that he's gone, so many people are seriously angry because he was a free agent and did what he believed was best for himself. He's not the selfish one; so many others are. He did his job...7 years of it! He's entitled to leave if he wants. Good grief! You do what you want to do. Let him live his life.

All this buzz for a basketball player? Like any other basketball player, his only motivation and dream is to make lots of money the easy way and spend it on the most frivolous things money can buy. Contrats to him anyways. And dont forget to buy some rims with the money from these suckers(fans).
