Judge Revel Removes Herself From Lindsay's Case

TMZ has learned ... Judge Marsha Revel has removed herself from the Lindsay Lohan case after allegations the judge improperly contacted people involved in the case.

Judge Revel and Lindsay Lohan

Sources tell us ... lawyers in the case had a conference call with Judge Revel last Friday at 3:30 PM.  Lawyers complained that Judge Revel had contacted "participants and experts" in the case without notifying the lawyers in advance.

We're told one of the issues -- Judge Revel took it upon herself to make contact with people from the Morningside Recovery rehab facility and then selected Morningside, even though it was not on the list of recommended facilities by her own court-appointed experts.  Ultimately, Lindsay's lawyer convinced Judge Revel to send LiLo to UCLA.  But the issue was raised on Friday.

Judge Elden Fox -- who also presides in Bev Hills -- is the new judge on the case.

UPDATE:  Sources in the D.A.'s Office tell TMZ ... prosecutor Danette Meyers was the one who raised the objection with Judge Revel on Friday.  We're told Judge Revel voluntarily recused herself before Meyers filed legal papers to have her removed.

UPDATE:  We're told among the prosecutor's complaints -- Judge Revel spoke with Morningside reps at least twice, medical experts at least twice, and Robert Shapiro in chambers without the lawyers being notified in advance.

I am positive that the judge was really trying to help the troubled little skank. The problem is she don't want to be helped. I understand that, I was young and wild once.

Lindsay was finally sent to a much more controled place than the nice and open Morningside Recovery rehab where the judge wanted to send her first.
It was said that the boss there promised a though treatment to Lindsay.
Look that the judge sent Lindsay to the Rehab without 24 or 48 hours free for her.
I suppose she did it to avoid the expensive interview Lindsay wanted to do.

What's known here in lawyer and legal circles in LA is the this Judge is 100% BatSh** crazy. She could give any Lohan a run for the money in the loon department.

Enuff! Do we think the fine Judge would have cared so much if this was a case of a drug addicted, unemployed carpenter? (If I were a carpenter - and you were a doooshbaig)

Shows you how broken the U.S. justice system is.

If you are a celebrity, you can break the law repeatedly and with contempt. If a judge won´t put up with your shenna****ns and puts you in jail, you can get the jail rules bent to suit you, have yourself released from jail after serving a ridiculously small portion of your sentence, and revenge yourself by getting the judge in trouble on a technicality.

Justice is indeed blind in the U.S. It´s been blinded by money and celebrity.

well they better replace her with a more strict judge and not someone who ends up being bought off by the Lohans. You just know that drugged up useless skank will be spending more years of her life in front of the bench

To: GOLLY- I have a lot of trouble taking any opinion of yours seriously when you have such bad grammar.
Do you really want to say: The problem is she do not want to be helped. -OR-
