NFL Star Lets God Off the Hook for Dropped Pass

11/29/2010 8:50 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

God can stop beating himself (or herself) up for Stevie Johnson's dropped TD pass this weekend -- the Buffalo Bills star is finally taking the blame.

Stevie Johnson Twitter

Johnson -- who let the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers literally slip through his fingers in OVERTIME -- had twittered, "I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!!"

But today, he's changed his tune -- saying, "No I Did Not Blame God People! Seriously??!? CMon! I Simply Cried Out And Asked Why?"

He added, "I AM HAPPY & THANKFUL 4 YESTERDAY! w/out Sunday i Wldnt have grew closer w/The Lord!!"

Johnson will have a chance to repent  when he lines up against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday ... if he's not in church.

Anyone who is quick to be holier than thou needs a resfresher course in the Psalms. A good chunk of them are basically "Why God ?!?!?" When one turns to God with one's frustrations, one is doing exactly what God wants. God wants all of us, all of our feelings, all of our frustrations. What is important is turning to God, whatever is going on. So many think that they cannot express their frustrations or anger to God, as if they could somehow hurt God's feelings. God's ways are not our ways.

OKAY, how is it GOD'S fault that HE dropped the damn pass? What a ****ing idiot. & If he's honestly complaining to God about it, he needs to lighten up. Thats so dumb it's not even funny...

This just once again confirms ( to me at least ) that believing in god is only for the mentally ill. Can anyone answer this.. Is Jesus god or jesus's father god ? Isn't he the son of god? Is there 2 kinda like a father& son business? Or are you gonna tell me they magically became one.
I'll stick to science and things I can actually see and touch.
Oh yeah.. Though I'm happy with the win , if the steelers play like that next Sunday night it's gonna be real ugly.

You did blame God you sinner. And he is going to make sure you fumble 5 times, drop 22 more balls, and split your pants on any lucky play you make. Look to the devil for guidance and you will have MVP second half. Go out and buy a dictionary your spelling and grammar are horrible sinner.

Now, I'll fast-foward past the Anti-CHRISTians, and all the others espousing mostly Hate-filled comments.

Regarding Mr. Johnson and his latest
statement in-reference to the true content and/or intent of his comments, is now undoubtedly, between He and The Most Divine

THE LORD, be magnified!

I have a lot more respect for someone that admits to saying something stupid than I do one that tries to blame other people.

Whatever, he dropped a pass and the Bills went on to lose the game. He was upset and vented. Who knows because we as Bills fans someday might say "thank god" he dropped that pass because we got a higher draft pick, and he can "catch" a touchdown in a real meaningful game like a future Bills Super Bowl game! Not a religous war here fokes just Buffalo Bills football! Repent and thou shall be saved! Go Bills!

Good for him! If the Lord is going to take all of the credit when things go well, someone has to hold him accountable when butterfingers drops the ball. It wasn't his fault. It was God!!!
