I think the show is pretty damn good. There is a lot of history being sold and a lot of people get to see it for the first time. These guys are making a living at what they do. They have also taken a beating on some of the things. Every show has to have someone who is at the blunt of a joke and Chumlee is it. Evadentley it doesnt seam to bother him because he is still working there. The show has made these guys famous.

I actually like these guys. They tell you what they will give you. If in doubt, they bring in an appraiser, on their dime - and tell you again what they will offer. I have seen them make several suggestions on how to get rid of an article that would make more money for the onwner than what they offered.

No one says you have to sell to them. If someone settles and sells - that was the seller's own decision. Maybe they were too lazy to take a valuable item to Christies's or the like and just wanted the cash up front. No matter. They made the decision - not the Pawn store. A lot of people do walk away.

How can anyone say they are stealing from the poor. Nobody ever has forced anyone into a pawn shop. The people are probably on drugs and would sell there mama to get money.

Why is everyone so mad at these people? They took their love and pride for what they do and got a television deal out of it. If the History Channel came up to you and offered you money to film you while working, wouldn't you take it? Best part is, it's not mindless TV. There is actual American History being brought in on both shows and they educate the viewers on the items. Good for them. Nice to see some American history being brought to light.

Pawn shops are for people that need money immediately or they have no idea how to sell something for near its full value to a collector. Most of those people would be better off going to one of those shops that help you sell your stuff on eBay and take a percentage of the sale price. Pawn Stars seems to buy their items for around 50% of their value. I'm sure the stores that sell stuff for you on eBay don't take 50% so do the math. The pawn shop has to make money too. Not everything sells fast in a pawn shop. For example, the big airplane propeller they bought last season is still there hanging on the wall on one of the shows I saw this month. Pawn Stars is definitely one of my favorite shows.

I love the show but not as much as American Pickers. Theirs is a nicer, clean cut show-no swearing, insulting, etc.
