Wesley Snipes: Larry King Could Save Me from Prison

12/8/2010 6:48 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Wesley Snipes believes some crucial new evidence emerged during his appearance on "Larry King Live" last night -- evidence that he hopes will keep him out of prison.

Wesley Snipes Prison
During the show, Larry read a statement from a member of the jury that convicted Snipes during his tax evasion trial which said, "There was one juror that had said they knew Mr. Snipes was guilty right when they first saw him during the jury selection."

Wesley's legal team immediately jumped into action -- and moments ago, they filed an emergency motion for a new trial based on juror misconduct.

As we previously reported, Snipes is due to begin his three-year prison sentence in Pennsylvania tomorrow for willful failure to file federal income tax returns.

So far, no word if the judge plans to slam the brakes on Wesley's date with justice.

Sorry folks. The fact is this conviction needs to be thrown out due to that jury error! Also, in my opinion, he should not have been sentenced to 3 years. Yes, let's look at Hilton/Sheen/ Lohan - all just about walked. Hilton and cocaine and they give her probation WITHOUT a Probation Officer and allow her to travel the world???? Also, although it is not an excuse, he had given his Financial Advisors Power of Attorney. That in itself, should have given him a lighter sentence. I also understand that he offered 6 million during his sentencing?? It was denied????

Its real funny how most of you people are saying just go do the time & suck it up, as if doing time is like a walk in the park or something. I bet not one of you have even sat in a jail cell for more than 4 hours. If someone being prejudged by a biased juror is basis for a new trial then give it to him, what do you care. If he ends up going to jail then so be it, at least give the man a fair trial, smh

Well i think its absolutely disgusting sending Wesley Snipes to prisom for 3 years for tax evasion..He hasnt exactly hurt anyone, stabbed, shot or strangled anyone.I think you have to remember the amount of tax this guy has to pay our greedy governments..Yes Yes hes broke a law but hey,,3 years of his life..You have to remember his wife and children will be without a father and husband..I think they have made an extremely hard example of Wesley ..
Keep your head up Wesley your not exactly the super villain some idiots make you out to be..God Bless..WiLL TAGGART..ENGLAND...

If it is true that a juror thought he was guilty before hearing the evidence against him, then he deserves another trial. I truly believe the judge should take a second look at this allegation in the name of fairness and justice. This juror should have been kicked out since they were already biased before the evidence.

the Taxes is a side issue!to the fact the there trying to use him as a poster child . Do you feel out of all the people in his tax bracket . Hes the only one not paying taxes..

but i bet hes the only black famous actor (avoiding taxes)..

and lets not lie to ourselves , we all know they handle ******s real differently(without care for there life) in the Judicial system.
( if they scruitinized every congressman , senator , mayor , governor,Bush, Cheney, etc.. youll be suprised whose not paying taxes, whose shuffling assests to avoid taxes)

the intentions of the Jury . was for him not to go to jail(as stated by a juror)..

--The judge and prosecutor took apon them selves, to impose what they felt was right , and missuse the intentions of the Jury...

add to the fact

Juror said he felt he was guilty before trial..(taints the jury pool)

He agreed to restitution , then they tricked into receiving jail time also..

who the ****s gets three years for misdemeanors..?

with no priors , and cant receive probation,

only a person whose being made an example of

I'll tell you this Wesley Snipes had enough money to buy and sell all these comments ok. The person who he hired to pay his taxes took his money along with other people money and went shopping for houses, cars, etc. How would you feel if you were put into Wesley shoes, you would be mad as hell. So unless you are in his shoes shut the ???? up. Get your facts straight. Does Madoff ring a bell.
