I think Tony knew Jessica Simpson had nothing going for her, yes she has money but Tony is rich so that wouldn't be a big factor for him. Her drinking, baggage with her father and the fact that she is a high school dropout probably was not very appealing to Tony.

Jessica found her Mr Right, her knew guy has no job and no money, she doesn't have to worry about getting dumped by him. Just ask Tori Spelliing, she has the same kind of husband, they love the gravy train.
