Michael Jackson Concert Tours on Trial

1/1/2011 12:20 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned ... Michael Jackson's weakened state during various concert tours throughout his life -- as well as preparations for the London concerts that never took place -- could become powerful evidence in the defense of Dr. Conrad Murray.

1230_michael_jackson_tour_launch_EX
Sources connected with the criminal case tell TMZ ... there's "compelling evidence" that MJ was in weakened health whenever he went on tour. Specifically, people who went on various tours  -- including the "Bad" and "Dangerous" concerts -- say Jackson was frequently "dehydrated, medicated, and sleep-deprived."

Just like with Dr. Murray, Jackson had a doctor who accompanied him during rehearsals and tours, attending to his needs.

The point ... the grueling concert schedules reduced MJ to a physical mess, prone to relying on and demanding drugs to sleep.

The "This Is It" London tour was especially grueling, because AEG added dozens of concert dates for Michael, who was already in an extremely weakened state and terrified he would fail.

All of this dovetails into a defense theory ... that Jackson felt enormous pressure to rehearse for the "This Is It" tour, and when he couldn't sleep he relied on Propofol to do the trick. The defense believes when Murray walked out of the room and Jackson woke up, he accidentally infused himself with a fatal dose of the drug out of frustration and fear.

He wasn't on tour yet. He was rehearsing for a tour. There is a big difference there. "It's All For Love. L.O.V.E."

They were not bandaids on his fingers but tape. He wore them on his fingers to bring attention to his hands during his performances. Just as he wore the glittery socks with the shorter pants to bring attention to his feet.

Both became one of his many trademarks.

Then why was he seen on the Bashir outtakes wrapping up his fingertips with tape if it was just an interview? I just believe there was more to that 'tape' than a simple stage prop but what I do admire was his ability to find a way to compensate for what he was dealing with health-wise; to take a debilitating condition, compensate, & then turn it into a fashion statement is genius:) I think MJ was truly a master of illusion.

Michael did it to himself, period. If not for that doctor, he would have found another, then another, or bought it off the streets. He was a longtime junkie..........i blame his father more than anyone else for his lifetime of abuse. When will that man be charged with his crimes?

and so....what?? Do we let this doctor off the hook? I don't understand your reasoning here. This was a cardiologist, NOT an anesthesiologist. I had NO BUSINESS administering an anesthetic, not to mention for the diagnosis of insomnia. YES, MJ should have known better & made a very poor, intentionally(I believe)uninformed judgement but it in NO WAY excuses what this physician took upon himself to do in the name of greed. HE injected him, that makes HIM responsible for involuntary manslaughter in the eyes of the law and frankly, in the eyes of the medical community as well. Conrad Murray had the DUTY to know what was safe & what was not for his patient, therefore he had the ultimate responsibility here. We don't just blame the patient when a physician commits an act of malpractice & this is GROSS MALPRACTICE. Even when we happen to believe that the 'patient' is an 'addict'. Believe it or not, addicts are STILL entitled to the same laws that protect the general public from the incompetence perpetrated upon them from the Conrad Murray's out there.

Well TMZ most bands/singers always have doctors go on tour with them,it's not an uncommon thing to have done! It happens on almost every tour people do.

"The point ... the grueling concert schedules reduced MJ to a physical mess, prone to relying on and demanding drugs to sleep."
Once again tmz is blowing smoke because there has never any proof of this just speculation. And so what IF Mike needed some help to sleep that isn't a crime. There people who do suffer from insomina, and need help to sleep.

I say it's time for tmz to get off the MJ gravey train.Harvey/tmz staff go and thank the Jackson family for boosting up your site!

No, they don´t "believe" that. Murray and his team made this story up. What a disgrace!
They came out with a new timeline EIGHT MONTHS after Michael was killed. Said that Murray didn´t recall correctly in his first statements. Bull.... Liars. Change of story is always, I repeat ALWAYS, a strong indication of guilt.

And who is paying TMZ for being so "pro-Murray"?

I noticed that the bandages on his fingers started as early as '87. I've always been curious why he wore those all the time, and as he was older they were on almost all his fingers.
I know you can inject underneath toenails, but is it possible to inject under fingernails as well?

Any fans here know the actual reason why he wore those band-aids?

Something to do with his vitiligo, and his original skin color would show more prominantly at the time. I'm not really sure what he did to remedy that in later years.

jalana/4 I completely agree with you. These are the reasons why, undoubtedly, Conrad Murray has to stand for trial in the first place.

Again, the Defense is grasping at straws here. And what does past concert tours have to do with Murray giving MJ Propolfol in a lethal doseage? The Prosecution will blow the Defense out of the water if they use the theories TMZ claims they may use.

But again, no way the Defense is informing anyone and especially TMZ of their strategy. These are just theroies that TMZ created to get the MJ frenzy going.

This is at least severe medical malpractice bordering on manslaughter. Even if Michael infused himself with the propofol Murray is at some fault. Why was propofol available to Michael anyway?? Of course, the plastic surgeon/surgeons who messed up MIchael's face are also guilty of malpractice. What is it with celebrity physicians? Do they not understand the word "no?"

to me this is just a 'no-brainer' as to his guilt. Sure hope the jury sees it the same way & is not hoodwinked by Murray's defense team. For every expert witness the prosecution puts on the stand, you can bet the defense will have one with a medical opinion to counter it-'paid experts' to confuse the jury. You also can bet that Michael Jackson ,the man, will be put on trial as well. I think this is going to get really ugly:(
