Police Report: How Lindsay Walked Out with Necklace

2/10/2011 2:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan was trying on a slew of jewelry before walking out of the store with the $2,500 necklace ... this according to the police report obtained by TMZ.

Lindsay Lohan Necklace
The report outlines Lindsay's every move -- from the time she walked into the store to the time she left -- and it's all on surveillance video.

According to the report, Lindsay walked in and removed her necklaces and placed them on the counter.  The report says, "Ms. Lohan then proceeds to try on numerous rings and three different necklaces including the missing yellow diamond necklace."

The police report then says Lindsay continued shopping while wearing the yellow necklace.

Then, at 6:12 PM, the owner locked the store but let Lindsay and her friend Patrick continue to shop.  That's when Lindsay tried negotiating a ring she had been eyeing, but she didn't like the $3,600 price tag.  Lindsay took $3,000 cash out of her purse and offered it in exchange for the ring, but the owner said no.  Lindsay then said, "Ok, we'll come back tomorrow."

When Lindsay prepared to leave the store, she put her own necklaces back on her neck, along with the yellow necklace in question ... then walked out of the store.

The owner noticed a short time after Lindsay left that the yellow necklace was missing, but figured she took it by mistake and would bring it back the next day.  Lindsay never returned to the store.

@305- point is you returned it. You didn't wear it around town a week later and wait for a search warrant to come out before sending one of your minions to go bring it back.

Lindsay stole the necklace, plain and simple.

The jeweler reviewed the tapes and called the police to let them know that in fact she left it one while reapplying her own necklaces and that in fact they were mistaken she had come into the store before pretending to be interested in a ring not the necklace.

Why did LL blow off their calls, lie and say she had never even been in the store. Whoops I'm on tape, yeah ummm it was a loaner. Oh yeah now I remember I'm ugh scatter brained that's it.

No one except her dependent family members believes her. Even her friends call her a chronic LIAR.

Really Now

"The owner of Kamofie & Company claims Lindsay walked out with the $2,500 necklace on January 22, yet she did not inform the LAPD until the 23rd. Our sources say the jewelry store owner claims she tried contacting Lindsay's people on the 22nd to ask them to return the item, but couldn't reach anyone. Here's the snag ... the owner simply could have walked down the street and knocked at Lindsay's door".- TMZ Feb 3, 2011. For all who are now manufacturing details to further their own hate campaign again Lindsay Lohan might want to remind themselves of the previous stories carried here. This ridiculous hate campaign against LL is really getting tired. This case at best is very thin and should have never have been prosecuted. Person has necklace in their possession on the evening of Jan. 22. Store claims to be contacting her "people" not LL herself, reports it on Jan 23 as being stolen. The necklace is turned in to the Police shortly thereafter and this is adjudged to be a felony? This is nonsense

Why didn't the owners drop the charges when they got the necklace back? The liars didn't feel bad about pressing charges as they claimed they did, or they would have dropped the charges by now. It should be obvious to everyone by now that the store is in this for publicity. I would never shop there for fear they would treat me like a common thief. I will always view this store like it's some sleazy pawn shop. There is reasonable doubt in this case and it shouldn't have gone as far as it has.

Yeah, anyjoe, businesses that file police reports for theft against a person have to prove that it hurt their business in order to win their case. That's California law for you!

I'm going to quote Barbara Walters addressing Dina on this one:

'C'mon, Let's Get Real!'

"C'mon, let's get real" when it comes to her daughter Lindsay's problems.

The legendary TV journalist made her comments during the show's 'Hot Topics' segment that included the panel talking about Lindsay being charged Wednesday with felony grand theft. (Dina was not on The View Wednesday, and Walters pointed out that she has repeatedly invited her to be guest on the show).

Walters said that Dina calls her from time to time, and that when they last spoke two days ago, Dina told her "Lindsay's fine.. everything's fine..
everything is OK.."

Walters then said: "I shouldn't make fun of her voice. I mean it wasn't fine. Maybe a little more straightforwardness.. a little more honesty.. a little more responsibility might help.

It was in the hands of the DA at that point and no I wouldn't drop the charges either. ESPECIALLY because she blew off their phone calls.

And the truth comes out....Lindsay got pissed because the owner didn't give her a discount for the ring. So, Lindsay gets back at the owner by stealing the necklace.

No way should she get a plea deal when she's done this over and over!!! She's laughing at the justice system.

I can't figure out if this girl is really mentally ill or if she is just effing stupid. Can one person really do all this without realizing that she is doing things that are illegal? Can one person really be that stupid? I mean I see it happenig but I just can't believe it!! Can someone please tell what is wrong with this chick?

Oh and a message to Nicole who always posts in her defense:

NOONE CARES THAT YOU THINK A CRIMINAL (AND BEFORE YOU REPLY BACK, SHE IS A CONVICTED CRIMINAL SO I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT) IS SO GREAT AND THAT SHE CAN DO NO WRONG! AND IF YOU REALLY ARE HER MOTHER THEN YOU NEED TO GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND TRY TO HELP YOUR DAUGHTER, STUPID SLEEZY MOOCH. MAYBE IF YOU HAD BEEN A BETTER MOTHER INSTEAD OF PIMPING OUT YOUR DAUGHTER FOR THE PAYCHECKS SHE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS MESS.

For the rest of TMZ readers sorry I yelled like that but boy do I feel better!

Get the Store Owner Confused. She Pulls out Cash for a Ring, then decides not to buy the ring, while still wearing the necklace she put on way before, asking about the ring.
The store owner is trying to make a sale. They are not paying attention to the necklace at this point. She thens puts ALL her Necklaces back on while, talking to the store owner. SHE IS A CON-ARTIST. This is What they Do. They Create Confusion.
The Store Owner said "She claimed she would be back tomorrow, she never showed." All this was Caught on Tape and I bet with Sound too. SHE STOLE THE NECKLACE, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. If, this were some Poor Joe, they would have been Locked Up By Now, and called a CON. She Pulled a Con, and she continues, by not paying people for their services!!!!!!!

@reallynow

So according to your reason, if someone returns something after they've stolen it only AFTER they find out the police are coming with a search warrant, then the person did nothing wrong and also they've done nothing wrong if the store owners don't hunt them down even after the thief said she'd be back in the next day....Maybe they just couldn't believe that someone ON PROBATION would be stupid enough to not return the next day.

Even if she gets off on this one (pun intended), it will only be a month or two before she pulls something again. It is just one thing after another with this woman so it is only a matter of time with her history of breaking the law.

@Baylee13

I agree 100%. I swear I used to really think this stuff was all hyped up by the media...but there is just way too much, especially the deal with the fur coat and now this. I can't figure out if I feel sorry for her or if I think she is an arrogant, self involved brat who thinks the rules don't apply to her.

The fact that she tried to hand the woman a wad of cash, more than the necklace was worth, makes it unlikely she was intentionally shoplifting. Also, is the necklace that ugly, little brown bag, or is there something inside the bag? What diamonds?
