Chris Bosh 'Got Milk' Event -- Giraffe Goes WILD!

2/18/2011 5:13 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh was in  the middle of a wildlife CRISIS yesterday -- when a live giraffe came THIS close to going on an all-out rampage ... and it was all caught on tape!

Bosh and the giraffe were debuting their new "Got Milk" ad at the L.A. Convention Center -- and the giraffe made it clear it didn't want to be there.

Luckily, the handler was able to regain control of the animal ... and no one was hurt.

UPDATE: Reps for the giraffe tell TMZ, the animal doesn't normally freak out ... it was just spooked by the loud PA system.

It's funny how a lot of you are whining about the giraffe being in captivity. I bet this giraffe is in giraffe heaven. He gets all the attention he wants, all the food he wants, all the water he wants, all the free medical he wants, all the booty calls he needs, etc. And as for those African giraffes in the wild, they are starving from no food and water!!!

Disgraceful. Wild animals belong in the wild, not slaves performing at the whim of ignorant humans.

A Giraffe does not belong in a convention center. I'm sick of stupid people using animals for their own entertainment or use and then cry when the animal charges or whatever.

It's disgusting that the poor giraffe had to be subjected to that. For a milk ad, really. Forget milk products for my family from now on. Why aren't there laws in place that forbid this.

why the hell do you bring a giraffe to a convention center anyways? These wild animals along with all others in zoos and water shows are not meant for our entertainment Release them or take them to a sanctuary.

This kind of thing makes me sick. Wild animals should never be treated this way. Whatever these morons are selling...I'm not buying it.

People being mean to kids and animals gets me very upset. What "handler" in his right mind would ever agree to taking a giraffe there? That selfish person doesn't deserve to be around animals.

Ah..That poor baby.
He's scared with all the lights flashing and the crowd..
And no Mama around.
He didn't go "wild"..
he was just afraid and resistant to such a situation he was dealing with .
:(
And I wouldn't call it berserk.....

Please.... always trying to blame an innocent creature.

Awfully stupid of them. Giraffes use their heads as clubs when they feel cornered (its no coincidence they've got horns). I've seen one knock a fist-sized chunk out of a large wooden beam.

So WRONG to do this to that innocent giraffe. Those humans have minimal moral evolution. Hoping they all re-incarnate as captured animals. Karma.

dude. if you got a crowd of wild folks looking at a giraffes legs, to them, it's like a woman in a crowd of sex crazed males looking at her boobs (or her in general, for that matter)!! usually, lions and such, focus on giraffes legs when they are gonna attack them, that's probably why the animal freaked out!
