A joke is a joke. People who think someone is mean or insensative because they make light of a situation needs to lighten up. Read it as a joke and that is all it is. If you laugh great and if not then thats fine too. I think its pretty funny! : )

We're bound to see jokes like those everywhere. There's a guy in Argentina (my home country) who has been twitting joke like those since about 30 minutes after the earthquake (saying things like he had found a Japanese guy in his bathtub or that he had gone to a sushi restaurant and the owner was throwing a bucket of water in your face so you would get a real Japanese experience...

In bad taste? Very likely. Funny? Well, many will find them funny, as you can see by reading the previous comments. I just choose not to react to them, because that's what people like Gottfried is looking for: any kind of reaction, particularly outrage. If we react, he wins.

The death toll is up to 10,000 now. Please get your facts correct. You're great at doing celeberity gossips, but terrible at giving us anything news worthy!

Your make charlie sheen into a hero for saying much worse stuff, but you immediately criticize gilbret godfrey for his poor choice of words.

Let's just hope, for Gilbert's sake, this was someone posing as him when they posted.

If not .... what will be the flash to bang time on his AFLAC gig (duck's voice) being yanked?

I have always found Gottfried funny. He is brutal yes. He deals with things much like I do, with humor. You have to be able to laugh at things. also look at the addtional publicity he brings to these kind of events. He has always been able to break tension at horrible times. If you don't believe me you can even go back to 9-11, where during Comedy Central's Roast that year he was able to make the other comedians feel at ease, because someone said something.

Yes maybe the same weekend is a touch quick, but it was going to happen some time. It is life people die sometimes a horrbile death, sometimes in their sleep.

You think this is funny? Why doesn't Gilbert do a "funny" "joke" about MJ then? Want to see how many of you people that posted he was funny would laugh then. Lets see how funny you think he would be then.

Hasn't even been past 3 days and he tried to do a joke on Japan. Pretty sad of this ahole.

These same people who claim it's just a joke, stop being so sensitive and take a joke... wouldn't find it so funny if it was at the expense of a tragedy that happened to them.

God willing, it never does happen to them.

The events in Japan have not ended. Consequently Gilbert's jokes are tantamount to making jokes about people running out of a burning building while they are on fire as they run past him.

Yes, Godfried has a right to make these jokes. That doesn't mean the jokes are funny. They're not. His jokes also mean that when/if he suffers a horrific tragedy, he'll understand when no one wishes him well, and will understand when people laugh at his pain, no matter how horrific it may be. I LOVE comedy, but what happened in Japan is not funny. Godfried is a completely insecure, self-absorbed, self-obsessed jerk. Just reinforces what I've come to learn: money doesn't buy happiness. He may have money, but if that's his idea of humor, he's not a happy person.
