Kobe Bryant

I Didn't Mean

To Offend Anyone

4/13/2011 3:39 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Kobe Bryant has issued a statement about his homophobic outburst during last night's Lakers game -- essentially admitting to using the word "f**got" and explaining, “What I said last night should not be taken literally."

Kobe continues, "My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. "

He adds, "The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.”

As we previously reported, Kobe mouthed the words, "f**king f**got" towards an NBA referee last night after he was hit with a technical foul.

One of the first things you learn in playing basketball, football or baseball is that you do NOT challenge the umpire's decision. You don't confront him on the floor, you don't give the finger or any other visible expression of discontent. You go sit on the bench and wait for the coach to call you back again. Certainly Kobe Bryant knows this rule just like he knows the importance of being on time for practice. Unfortunately sportsmanship is neither practiced or respected in professional reports.

He might as well be honest, not everyone is crazy about homos and view it as a sickness! Then why worry about it since they are dying in numbers from alcoholism, drug abuse, suicide and Anally Injected Death Sentences? If they can't see fit to like themselves then why should anyone else?

Kobe "The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities..."
I have been listening to ESPN and other networks going on all weekend about this.
We have gays coming on saying it is offensive to them, we have Kobe Kiss A$$es saying it is ok it's not the real Kobe.
Now let me see, I seem to remember a guy name Imus who made a remark and every black "leader" (in their own eyes) were on the radio TV internet blogs calling for his fireing. Double standard b the black community OH HELL YEA! Without a dought.
Because Kobe is who he is the NBA TNT CBS NBC ESPN do not want to have him miss games in the playoffs. It would hurt ratings and open door after door of speculation if the Lakers get knocked out. Imas had a small audience compaired to the numbers and $$$$ Kobe generates.
Kobe says this is not me. Its is no more Kobe then it is "Farmer John" who drops the "F" bomb in the neighborhood watering hole.
Sorry No Pass for Kobe. Can't do the time - Dont do the crime.

@Bwahaha

NEWSFLASH! Any one quoting a person with the name of Confucious(Confused) is a blithering Fool. Confucious? Lord it dont get any dumber. Confucious? LOL LOL OMG how stupid can you be?

as for Kobe's lil remark. True if he was called the N-word there would be an uproar. He put his foot in his mouth. nothing suprising there. Let him say it a few more times a lose some more money.

In fact when folks start getting Hefty fines maybe they will learn to keep your opinions and nasty remarks to yourself because no one else cares to hear them. that also goes for you loonies on here commenting that its OK. to use the F word.

Lastly, just remember Kobe, you have small children. who will one day have children..your kids may turn in to the very thing you hate..and that goes for the rest of you on here. You call names..but you could very well be cursing your best friend\s as well as children that YOU dont even KNOW that are GAY and your offending them. Yall on here saying this and that about Gays and you have Family Members and best friends and wives and boyfriends and husbands that are secretly GAY. get over yourselves!

“What I said last night should not be taken literally." I suppose people using the "N" word shouldn't be taken seriously either. Kobe is a bigot and should be removed from the team, he obviously can't think clearly - too much head trauma I suppose.

I guess that's not bad at all in the eyes of a rapist, though.
