Lindsay Lohan: I'm the Victim of a Witch Hunt

4/25/2011 9:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan believes prosecutor Danette Meyers is on a "witch hunt" against her, and is praying the Deputy D.A. makes good on what she asked the judge -- drop out of the case.

Sources in contact with Lindsay tell us ... Lindsay believes she's become a living, breathing press release for Meyers, who is running for L.A. County District Attorney.

There are several flaws in Lindsay's theory.  First, Meyers asked Judge Stephanie Sautner Friday to remove her from the case.  Since the judge knocked the felony charge down to a misdemeanor, Meyers assumed the case would be transferred to the L.A. City Attorney.  But the judge noted the D.A. can still prosecute the case if it wants to ... so Meyers' request was denied.

Second flaw -- Meyers has prosecuted hundreds of big cases in her more than 2 decades as a prosecutor, and is extremely well-respected, so she really doesn't need a misdemeanor theft case all that much.

Assuming that this story is in fact true, I'm pretty excited. I'm hoping there's a follow up story with details as to where to purchase tickets to the witchy roast.
Fact is, I don't hate the witch really, I just hate everything she is, says and does.

Jail Time? So What! Lindsay Lohan's Brand Has Nowhere to Go But Up
By Jo Piazza Posted Apr 25th 2011 07:00PM

Another stint in jail won't help or hurt Lindsay Lohan's brand. Her marketability with consumers is already so poor that even more time behind bars can hurt her more than she has already hurt herself.

"I don't think going to jail or not matters to a brand anymore with Lindsay. Any brand that was going to touch her with all of her troubles was/is going to do so regardless of whether she spends time in jail. For the most part, I think it's safe to say most brands aren't going to get close to her as there's just been too much negativity surrounding everything she does," says marketing executive Matt Delzell of the Marketing Arm. Delzell's job is to pair brands with celebrities for endorsement and licensing deals and he doesn't see much activity in that arena in Lohan's future.

On Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner found Lohan in violation of probation and sentenced her to the jail time and 480 hours of community service.

In light of the latest speed bump for Lindsay, Delzell believes it is time for La Lohan to take seriously the three factors that will help her rebuild her brand.

1) Make a sincere, public apology
2) Keep your nose clean and stay out of the media spotlight for a while. Time will be on your side.
3) Have a successful project, a movie or even some charity work. Something!

Even when all three of these are checked off (and make note that none of them has been accomplished yet), it could be a case of too little, too late.

"Her brand is already tarnished and she keeps getting herself into the same messes so that it gets tarnished even more," explains Nelson Gayton, Executive Director and senior lecturer at the Center for Managing Enterprises in Media, Entertainment, and Sports at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. "She has a persona these days, but that isn't necessarily a brand."

Gayton believes that right now Lohan only brings value to a project as a star of 'Celebrity Rehab' or in a cameo in 'The Hangover the nth.' But maybe if she can complete the triumvirate of redemption above she will have a shot.

"I wouldn't say her brand is sufficiently kaput that she can't do anything about it. Look at the chances the public gave Robert Downey Jr., and he's won his way with the public again," Gayton said, adding the caveat, "He is an amazing talent though, does that hold true for Lindsay? Can she get her act in order and disprove perception of her as problematic.?"

Can she?

Hey LiLo: you want her out of your life??? Quit breaking laws and probation. If I was the judge and I heard those words come out of her mouth, I'd throw her in jail just for that. This tramp needs to learn that there are definite consequences to walking out of store with a necklace that belongs to them around your neck. And then she surrenders it when she hears they are about to raid her place. Go to jail. Go directly to jail.

That's quite an interesting post and I must say , I do agree.
One of the things that is most irritating about Lohan is that she has failed to make that apology to the moviegoers and fans that made her a celebrity to begin with. For someone like her that cannot survive without attention, it's not to wise to disrespect the very people she needs to feed her that attention.

george fudge!

Maybe Blowhan should just shutup ... and don't backtalk when the director of the LA women's shelter hands you a mop and tells you to clean the bathrooms!

Remember, you have no fans and are an instant liability to any movie producer, who will have their credibility challenged if hiring you for anything other than as the coffee waitress to the production crew.

LA me

The director of the Skid Row women's shelter was last seen with her head buried in her hands, crying at her desk muttering "What did we do to deserve this POX? We did nothing wrong....WHY?? WHY??"

The good news is...the death rate in Los Angeles will drop by 50% because of the fear of Ms. Snortcake handling their bodies. Families and hospital's will be hiding their deceased till she is done with her community service. Either that, or we will see an increase of bodies dumped across county lines.

LL will be on Leno tomorrow night...she taped with him today. As I said in a previous the Hugh Grant thing with Leno and your golden. In this case I am afraid it is more of a situation to Gawk and and mock. It would be great if she told him "I plan to plead guilty, apologize to those I have harmed and allocute"

We'd all be floored and we would have to take another look at the girl.

We all know that wont happen. They replayed part of the Dina interview with lauer on a gossip now I know how LL learned how to be in total denial.

I think the worst human trait must be lying to ones self

Let's face it...Lindsay is already an ex-con,a repeat offender and a proven liar...this is no witch hunt but just the ordinary dealings with people who continually break the law.

little by little this case is falling in pieces. it's already a misdemeanor (Meyers 0 Shawn 1)

so Shawn is winning and Meyers is losing.

that's why Meyers wanted herself out right away , and before Shawn wins everything big time.

and Lindsay was right not taking the deal back then.

Shawn is gonna win this.

well done, Shwan , brava!

OK let's try to sum this up :

Lindsay is innocent so we must admit that it wasn't easy for Meyers , but then again if she's not good against a little girl I can imagine how she'll be against real criminals...

I mean..

Meyers didn't make you walk out of that store with a stolen necklace. Meyers didn't prevent you from returning that stolen necklace when the store owner gave you the opportunity to return it. Meyers isn't the source of your problems, mean girl. You are.

@Carvey 17 minutes ago Meyers didn't make you walk out of that store with a stolen necklace.
Dont you know LL is a scatterbrain or as S.Holley her attorney puts it, a very inconsiderate person.

And when LL walked out of that party having taken Masha Markova's fur coat she gave the coat to the club (1Oak) to return to Masha 3 weeks later. It's not LL's fault it smelled like cigarettes and booze and the lining was ripped. She should not have put it in with the other coats. LL thought it was a giveaway until Blair Berk called her and said she was gonna be sued for it...Masha is a poor sport! Finders keepers losers weepers.

@Lindsay is a Train Wreck has got it right. How many chances does a person get? Not as many as Lindsay Lohan after all this time. And let's address Lindsay's arrogance, as if Dannette Meyers NEEDS Lindsay's case to add to her alreay illustrious career. The problem with Lindsay Lohan is that she thinks that ANYTHING that has her name attached to it has some sort of importance. That's pretty delusional. Lindsay Lohan is an embarassment. She has single handedly destroyed her career, her integrity doesn't exist, and it will take a very long time, if ever, for her to resurrect it and gain respect. With her attitude, I doubt it will ever happen.
