Beyonce Accused of Destroying Xmas for 70 People

4/26/2011 6:13 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Beyonce Knowles is a "morally reprehensible" person who screwed 70 people out of their jobs one week before Christmas ... this according to a new legal documents obtained by TMZ.

A video game company called Gate Five filed papers today in NY -- in which they claim they had a deal in place in 2010 to create a game with Beyonce called, "Starpower: Beyonce."

According to the docs, things went awry during a "crucial moment in the project's development" when Beyonce made "an extortionate demand" for more money -- even though the two sides already had a deal in place.

Gate Five claims her move "drove 70 people into unemployment, the week before Christmas" ... and notes that one of the project's backers described her conduct as "morally reprehensible."

The company claims it is entitled to the $6.7 mil it invested into the venture -- as well as more than $100 million in profits Gate Five believes it would have earned had Beyonce honored the agreement.

The Funny Part about this is that the Video game company Just Might get anywhere from 25 - 75 Million from her. Even though theirs allot of people who don't care for her or her Music, She Still Sign a Contract With the Video game Company. Then She Attempted to Extort them for more money, they did not pay her more money so she Quit, All while still under Contract.

Once you sign your john Han**** on a Contract, you Sign Away your Life & Rights. She Should have asked for More money before Signing anything. and even if the Video Game Company don't get 25 - 75 Million they will Still get Some kind of money out of it.

Now I know why she parted ways with her father as her manager. Either HE was the one trying to get more money for himself behind her back or she is doing damage control and let him go so if the lawsuit was filed she can blame it on him even if it was her to try and get out of it. He has WAY less money than her so they are probably hoping they will have to sue him for less than what she would lose if they win the lawsuit against her. I'm sure she'll be paying it eiather way, but isn't going to admit it in court. Just a thought.

Someone Anony

As someone who works in the videogame industry I can tell you a budget of 6.7 million for a game of this nature is beyond insane. 1 million tops. And firing 70 people over this? HIHGLY doubtful. 20 people maybe. But 70? Get real. As for stars-they demand the world on a silver platter any time a game company wants to use their image. Even if they don't even have to do anything toward the game's production. Even if they aren't even that famous. I've seen stars who request half of a game's budget, when the game would be promoting them! The people that make the games earn pennies while the star that does NOTHING gets richer. It's a sad and disgusting world.

I am blown away at these comments, there are always two sides to EVERY story....and what took so long for them to file a suit [sounds suspect]...everyone talking about karma and the way she treats folks, have you met her, worked with her--been in the same damn room as her, give it a break this is hater--loser mentality talking about someone you wish you were is whats really going on. I have several friends that have worked with her and they have nothing but positive feedback, background singers, producers, PAs, extras...

Listening to a rumor that you can not confirm is not the brightest, or all that nice, get a life and find something positive to say or shut the "h" up....

...and she is what she is, how the heck does she want to be white, seriously...someone actually wrote those words...ghetto fabulous is the most you can say, not ghetto of itself, ghetto is what most of these posts are....

Sincerity

Where's the "proof" that an agreement actually existed? I doubt Beyonce would arbitrarily "pull out" of a deal in which she didn't have the "legal" right to do so. It seems more like Gate Five filed this suit hoping that Beyonce would "quietly settle" it just to make it go away due to adverse publicity. Regarding "development" related costs, Gate Five seemed to be solely responsible for them, not Beyonce. They really should have had another celebrity lined up in case the deal with her fell through. There's two sides to this story and as far as we know, the product Gate Five actually produced may not have been what was initially discussed with Beyonce's team which may have prompted her to modify her demands. They may have requested more material from her that required additional licensing related payments. Just because someone wants to develop a product utilizing your image, doesn't mean you can afford to give everything away for free.
