MJ's 'Thriller' Jacket -- Got $400k Layin' Around?!

6/6/2011 8:21 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Jackson's iconic red jacket from the "Thriller" video is hitting the auction block in Beverly Hills in a few weeks -- and it could be yours ... if you've got a spare $400,000 to blow.

The jacket -- which MJ personally autographed to his former costume designers -- is expected to fetch between $200k and $400k ... though we wouldn't be shocked if it soared past half a mil.

The jacket is one of several MJ items featured in the Julien's Auction event on June 25 and 26. Among the more interesting pieces -- the wig Michael wore at his "This Is It" news conference in London and a glove he wore at the American Music Awards.

The wig is expected to haul in between $4,000 and $6,000 -- and the glove is valued between $20k and $30k.

Yes he wore hair pieces and wigs, so what. If you substained the same kind of horrible burns like he did on your scalp from the fireworks in the Pepsi commercial you would too. His hair was never going to grow back so he did what he had to do and still looked gorgeous.

Maybe this money will go to charity instead of lining someones pockets.

Hi Human Nature...Miss you girl!

Sad to see this part of History for the ICON MJ is being acutioned off verses going to a musuem.

To "Tired" who commented "he wore a wig"

Micheals scalp was burned when he was doing a pepsi commercial!

To Canadasux, and Brian, if you do not like Micheal Jackson that is you right, but that does not give you the right to pubslish slanderous and maybe libelous comments that you have NO evidence of. TMZ should not allow abusive and libelous comments.

I was not aware he wore a wig. I still cannot believe these are being sold, but I guess everyone is out to make money. Sad.

what a life Michael had ...every single thing he did, had,was turned into profit for somebody...

Back to school, TMZ. Miss Fussbudget needs to rap your knuckles: that money might be lyin' around, but is pretty sure not to be layin' anything (unless it's a chicken).

Some things should not be sold.Selling the wig is in poor taste.
Michael lost a patch of hair because of the Pepsi accident;he wore extensions and wigs.Treatment for the scalp burn did not allow hair re-growth.And after using extensions for a time, hair that the extensions are attached to thins out--so that is the reason for the wig.Michael had hair, but not a full head of hair.

I don't know why this bothers me, but it does. Perhaps it's because these items should be treasured by his children rather than be owned by the highest bidder.
Especially the wig. Putting this on public display seems to be yet another attempt to rob Michael of his dignity.
Sadly, I guess (once again) it's all about money.

KingMikeJ: Everybody has the right to have personal opinions, you and I, both, and everyone else. And, so, even without going anywhere near the child molestion allegations Michael Jackson had to fend off, his very public behavior was creepy and bizarre, in my opinion, and got moreso the older he got!

Having said that, the RACIST and TRULY FOUL posts here about Jackson should be deleted. So, why don't you go after the losers on this post who truly ought to be BANNED from posting here, instead of going after me for expressing a very generalized opinion?
