Dirk Nowitzki DETHRONES LeBron in Cleveland Beef

6/14/2011 1:10 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Talk about adding insult to injury -- a day after LeBron James' dreams were dashed to pieces, one of the biggest delis in Cleveland renamed its famous "King" sandwich ... after Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki.

TMZ spoke with Earl Stein -- the co-owner of Corky and Lenny's in Cleveland -- and he tells us, the deli redubbed the $10.50 sandwich in honor of Dallas' victory over Miami Sunday night.

What was once the "King Size Corned Beef Sandwich" is now the "The Dirk Nowitzki Corned Beef Sandwich."

We haven't tasted it ourselves -- but it looks delicious ... and probably goes real well with an ice cold can of spite.

@Spartacus, I know Lebron and he is an ass but I won't tell him that because he will just cut me off. Someone with that much fame does not like to hear the truth about themselves. They think everyone is beneath them. The media only show you a glimpse of Lebron attitude, behind doors he's another person. This series was about humility. The team that showd more of that won!!

LA LAkers

Being a Lakers fan, I can tell you that most of you are way off on your comments about Cleveland, the ownership, and LeBron. Ownership had their hands tied, b/c LeBron waited until the last minute to decide to leave Cleveland. Think about it, if LeBron commits to Cleveland 2 or 3 years ago, other free agents would have thought of going there. But knowing LeBron and Wade decided during the Olympics that they would play together, no free agents wanted to come. Stop saying ownership failed.
Stop believing everything that you read, and start reading between the lines. Things will start to make more sense.

LaLaker-How wrong is your comment! No free agent wanted to go to Cleveland! Wade was asked in an Jimmy Kimmel interview about going to Cleveland and he said he did not want to go there! Bosh said the same thing. Amare wasn't even thinking about that team. So you tell me one major free agent in the prime of their career that would have went to cleveland to play with Lebron??

I want that sandwich. But it should be on rye. With hot mustard and cole slaw. And a pickle on the side. Oh man, I'm so hungry right now.

All of you Heat Haters need to get a life. If a team owner had wanted to trade or release Lebron they would have in an instant without regard for him or his fans. So why is a player being held to a higher standard?
Back last summer, there wasn't a so called expert that predicted success for the Big Three in their first year. They all said it would
take at least a year to get it together. Finishing 2 games away from the NBA Championship far exceeded all expectations.
The Big Show or introduction was for the Heat fans. Just because ESPN chose to broadcast it nationwide should not be held against the team.
Lets fast forward 5 years from now. How many rings do you think the Big Three will have? How many will Dirk have?

It took Dirk No-ring-ski 14 years to become Dirk One-ring-ski!

Spartacus, right on man! Cleveland and the media needs to get over it already! It has been a year and Lebron is with the Heat! Dirk is one fugy dude. He looks like a blonde big foot.

Oh boy

I'm with most posters here...Cleveland really needs to move on.

I don't blame James for leaving. What do many of us do when our jobs are going nowhere? We leave!

Everyone had a lot to say about Lebron after they lost. But when you look at Lebron's entire basketball career and all the year's ahead of him. Lebron is the greatest Player in the NBA. Now, im not gunna lie Kobe was the best at one time. But, Lebron is 26 yers old and KObe is like 36 ... imagine How much more lebron can do in 10 more years in the NBA. He could do way more than Kobe ever did. As for the heats they will get their ring next year, Cuz when you think about it, this was james, bosh, and wade first time playing together as a team and if they made it this far, imagine what they are going to do next year.
