Charlie Sheen's New TV Show

'Anger Management'

7/6/2011 10:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen's new TV show will be based on the movie "Anger Management"and Charlie will be playing the Jack Nicholson character ... TMZ has learned.

Sources directly involved in the project say the man who is making it all happen is uber-producer Joe Roth, who produced and owns the screenplay to the 2003 movie, "Anger Management."

We're told Charlie's character will stray a bit from the movie role.  The plan as of now -- Charlie's character will be an ex-jock who got his master's degree in social work during the offseason.  He becomes a counselor to defendants in the criminal justice system with anger management problems.  But, of course, Charlie's character will have anger issues of his own.

We're told the deal with Lionsgate is not done, but is in the final stages of negotiations.  And we're told, there is no deal with a network to air the show -- at least not yet.

Roth has worked with Charlie on 5 projects, including "Major League," "Young Guns" and "Three Musketeers."

Seems like a horrible idea. seems like charlie will be the main feature and other characters will be coming and going "clients". If you use the same "client" or clients every show, **** will be lame and tired. Mix up the cast toooo much and it will just become nothing to focus on. this is a hard road to go down for a show. major league tv show dude. rick vaughn pitching coach FTW!

Only an absolute idiot would hire this guy.
1) No loans against your pay.
2) You get paid per don't show, get thrown in jail and can't make it = no pay.
3) You get ZERO percent of the profits until you complete 2 seasons.
4) MORALITY CLAUSE. Be your normal dirtbag self even one time and you are fired and we hire someone else.
5) You are fined 50K every hour you are late or leave early.
6) You are fined 100K every show your antics delay.
7) Any of your co-stars leave due to you and you are gone are a package.
8) You are fined 100K every time you insult writers, cast mates, the show itself or anyone in connection with the show on camera.
9) You drop your childish lawsuit against Warner Brothers...we want ZERO distractions.
10) Daily drug tests with your own urine.
11) You get your damn teeth fixed.
12) You make us beneficiaries in a 100 million dollar insurance policy in case you kill yourself or OD.
13) Get arrested, get fired.
14) Domestic dispute call to your house, get fired.

Anyone not requiring him to sign a contract like this, deserves to get screwed.

Joe Roth? Uber-producer? Seriously? The guy is listed 23rd of 25 in's Most influntial people in Hollywood - well behind the likes of Tim Burton and Oprah Winfrey. Honestly, you should credit the guy as simply being a producer.
