ESPN to Hank Williams:

YOU'RE FIRED

10/6/2011 7:38 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Hank Williams
The Monday Night party is over for Hank Williams ... ESPN has just fired the singer, days after he compared President Obama to Hitler.

ESPN had already pulled the song from Monday's game while they mulled Williams' fate -- but now, it's permanent.

ESPN released a statement, saying, "We appreciate his contributions over the past years.  The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue."

As we previously reported, Williams went on Fox News earlier this week, and referred to Obama and Joe Biden as "the enemy."

He later called his comments "dumb" -- but never really apologized for saying them.

ESPN - you're all idiots. BHO is like Hitler. BHO was compared to Hitler early on in his campaign when he was trying to become pres. The liberal media guards BHO like a baby. And ESPN, I guess you're one of them....

Good comparison. Don't apologize for speaking the truth. Some people can't handle the truth.

**** ESPN! He's still Hank Williams Jr. He doesn't need ESPN. Liberals are the biggest cry babies I've ever seen. Liberal boys take ballet no*****ch football.

Do any of you actually know what freedom of speech means? It is freedom from the government, not freedom from your employer.

Do people not understand analogies anymore? Did he not just mean they're two different people on different sides? And isn't that a fact?

Hank Williams Jr does seem kind of crazy in the clip, but I don't see why he should have lost his job. Complete overreaction. This is nothing but another example how nobody can say anything negative about Obama without persecution.

ESPN is okay with airing/glorifying thug players with criminal records, but, free speech is a huge no-no....

TMZ, your reporting is lazy. He did NOT compare "President Obama to Hitler". What he did was draw an unfortunate mixed metaphor between Obama/Boehner and Hitler/Netanyahu. He did not compare either one to either one directly.

I think they were just looking for a way to get rid of this blowhard. There is freedom of speech and then there is freedom of stupidity.

He did not compare Obama to Hitler. He made an analogy. There is a difference.
