My heavens!Your site is my favorite, and I cannot start my day without viewing it.But,Joe Paterno the fall guy?Wow,you are uninformed. How could your usually on-the-money reports be so blatantly inaccurate?First, there are two people ALREADY out the door. But most importantly who do think the patriarch of the program is?Paterno held ALL the power, period! He put protection of the program FAR ahead of protection of kids. You people at TMZ have finally slipped, and your headline,in this case, will deeply offend many,if not most,of the people who see the excellance of what you people do.Honestly!I'm saddened that Harvey would let this happen,as I've always been impressed with him AND the way that he sails his ship.I still think you folks are the best, but today you has a pretty insulting slip-up.

Paterno WAS the most powerful man on that campus. Sure, on paper, the president(who also should be dismissed) is in charge but if Paterno wanted something done, it happened. As far as I'm concerned the only reason he's not in jail is based on a technicality. The Board of Trustee's needs to clean house.

IF these were Joe's Kids, instead of calling the Athletic Director, he should have called someone in the Gambino Family who he undoubtedly knows quite well.

IF these were Joe's kids we would be praying for sandusky. Not for the innocent victims. Instead of calling the Athletic Director, I would have called someone in the Gambino family.

Paterno did exactly what he should have -- he did not have lst hand knowledge and any accusation he could have made to the police would have been unsubstaintiated and open him to a lawsuit. More importantly, the University (Spanier&BO)new about Sandusky's questionable conduct in the late 90' when he retired with them giving him "Emeritus status-which gave him an office and complete access to the entire University." For the State Police to claim that Paterno should have done more--where were they in the late '90s when Sandusky was lst brought up on suggestions of this type of conduct? The University President and his band are the ones that shoud be held accountable as should McQueary and his father (nobody was stopping them from contacting the police-where's their supposed moral accountability). More to the point why was a 10 year old in the company of Sandusky especially because of the allegations of 1998 and Sandusky's subsequent retirement. Who in their right mind would have ever allowed a child alone in Sandusky's custody without supervision. While the 1998 allegations went nowhere (can you say the BOT then -- many are currently on the BOT now) gave Sandusky his "Emeritus" status knowingful well about the allegations. The Blame rests with Spanier and the BOT. Parents need to be reponsible for their kids. "Doing the right thing" is a great phrase, but the reality is unless you the accusor have unrefutable proof you are opening you, your family, and your job to being sued for anything and everything. There is absolutely no way the University or any other organization or parent can protect a child, an animal, etc from everything and everybody. Point: if you have even a hint of unusual behavior you cannot adopt a child. So you give a guy with allegations a "golden retirement."

REGARDING JOE PATERNO, HE DID WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSE TO DO AND REPORT TO HIS HIGHER PEOPLE THAT ARE APPOINTED TO CONTACT THE AUTHORITIES ABOUT SEXUAL CRIMES,HARRASSMENT,ETC., WHO HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO GO TO THE POLICE,WHICH IN THIS CASE WOULD HAD BEEN THE UNIVERSITY POLICE,YES THE U.P. DEPT., NOT STATE COLLEGE POLICE ,IN WHICH NOW PEOPLE WILL SAY WELL THEN IT COULD OF BEEN PSP OR CHILD WELFARE ETC. JOE WAS GIVEN INFORMATION WHICH IN TURN HE FORWARDED IT TO THE PROPER CHANNEL. THEY ARE TO BLAME,THE ADMINISTRATION!!!JOE WAS NOT AN EYE WITNESS, AND IT TOOK ALMOST 3 YEARS FOR THE GRAND JURY TO DECIDE IN WHICH IT IS NOT THROUGH W/ THIS INVESTIGATION, AND WHY DID THE DECEASED D.A. CRICAR DROP THE INTIAL 1998 CHARGES AGAINST SANDUSKY? WHY DID NOT THE MOTHER FILE A CIVIL LAWSUIT AGAINST SANDUSKY? DID SHE FILE A P.F.A? DID SHE PURSUE IT WITH THE PAPERS,MEDIA,SPORTS AT THE TIME? NOW EVERYONE WANTS JOEPA OUT BECAUSE HE DID NOT GO TO THE POLICE ON SOMETHING HE DID NOT SEE. WHY IS THE GOVERNOR OF PA. GOING TO PSU ON FRIDAY? HE IS THE GOV. NOW, NOT ATTORNEY GENERAL, NOT PSP COMMISSIONER(ALTHOUGH HE APPOINTED NOONAN),IS THIS ALSO A POLITICAL AGENDA BY THE GOV. IN WHICH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE WAS INVOLVED YEARS AGO. CHARGE SANDUSKY AND THROW AWAY THE KEY. HE IS THE ONE RESPONSABLE ALONG WITH PSU ADMINISTRATION FOR ALLOWING THIS TO GO ON.

Denial, anyone? It's scary. People are so devoted to Joe Paterno that they are willing to sacrifice children? Would they feel the same way if it was their kid? I hear a lot of rationalizing, justifying and compartmentalizing. Very bad things happen when good people keep quiet.

as always with a scandal a select few are dumped on. what about the rest of the staff of the football how many of them had knowledge of this I would say probably most of not all. then there is the board of trustees they all need to be dumped because ultimately they are answerable for what happens at the university

‎. . . upon discovering irrefutable evidence of Sandusky’s crimes they (being Paterno and school officials) had given him the option of retiring or face prosecution, and in the process bringing his abuses to public light.
