David Archuleta

The Emotional Announcement

We All Saw Coming ...

12/20/2011 7:15 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

David Archuleta made a pretty big announcement about his personal life at a concert in Utah last night ... but to people who know the guy, it probably wasn't that shocking.

The former "American Idol" runner-up told his home crowd ... that he's ... (wait for it) ... putting his music career on hold for two-years to fulfill a full-time mission with the Mormon church!!

The announcement was pretty emotional -- with the crowd erupting in cheers ... and David breaking down and crying on stage.

20-year-old Archuleta explained, "It's not because somebody told me that I was supposed to do it, not because that I no longer want to do music anymore, but it's because it's the feeling that I felt that I need to do next in my life."

When is the announcement that he's gay? And doesn't he get in trouble for that in the Mormon church? I'm sure he's suppressing that hard so he won't be kidnapped and given shock treatments like that one guy, and that's never good. By the time he's 25 he'll be a raging alcoholic.

I commend him on doing what he feels is right for him. Not letting money and fame get in the way of your calling is admirable.

Bad decision, kid. You need to do this because your shelf life at music is limited. There will be a ton of music acts that will come in to replace asap. NOBODY will remember you in 2 years.

Closely check out photos of him on this current tour. He's been wearing the Mormon undergarments (underwear) under very tight jeans since the tour began. You can't miss them. David has become increasingly fanatical this year. Everything he is running from will all be there when he gets back.

i hope they send him somewhere in europe so he can get the door slammed in his face everywhere he goes. These sops get converts in 3rd world countries, but not so much in first and second world countries. All religions are cults... but the ones that advocate invading a person's privacy to proselytize REALLY suck.

To be honest, almost a relief that he goes. He has become increasingly fanatical this year and many fans are sick of hearing about the LDS church. We did not sign up for this when we became his fans. Oh well -- he's got what he wants -- he's married to the church.

I'll miss him a lot. I'm a big fan of his singing and also the person that he is. But he has a strong and loyal fanbase and we'll be waiting for his return. I'm proud of him for following his heart.

The Mormons have these kids so brainwashed, they might as well be in North Korea worshiping their leader!

Whether you like it or not, Mitt Romney, Glenn Beck, Harry Reid, Jon Huntsman, and the rest all represent Mormonism. That is what the LDS Church wants, for every member to be a missionary and an "example" - a light on the hill, taking your candle out from under the bushel, and all that sort of thing (the spirit and gist of the I'm a Mormon public relations campaign).

But these people are miles apart on politics: Beck vs Reid, for instance.

So what is the common denominator?

It is a scripturally-based vision of the (near) future with the Mormon Church having political dominion over the entire earth, and it will "cut off" those who do not hear and obey the Mormon leaders. See D&C 1:13-14

Partisan politics don't matter to these Mormons. Only Mormon dominion matters. Mormon Dominionism is a serious threat to this nation!

The most important thing to know about "Sister Romney" is that she, too, has been anointed to assume high political and ecclesiastical position in the worldwide Mormon kingdom that Mormons believe will "bring an end to all nations" and rule the earth.

Such a vision of intolerant theocracy is not seen as a good thing by most Americans.

In the Mormon Temple "Initiatory" is the proof of the Romney's "anointing". Both Mitt and his wife have been "anointed to become Kings and Queens, Priests and Priestesses unto the most high God, to rule and reign in the House of Israel forever".

The LDS Bible Dictionary proves the dominion claims:

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God on the earth, but is at the present limited to an ecclesiastical kingdom. During the millennial era, the kingdom of God will be both political and ecclesiastical (see Dan. 7:18, 22, 27; Rev. 11:15; JST Rev. 12:13, 7; D&C 65), and will have worldwide jurisdiction in political realms when the Lord has made a full end of all nations (D&C 87:6)."

The "intolerance is proven by Prop 8 as well as by D&C 1:14 that says,

"and the day cometh that they who will not hear the voice of the Lord, neither the voice of his servants, neither give heed to the words of the prophets and apostles, shall be cut off..."

Mormons will try to deny this, saying such things as "The "domination of the nations" will come from Jesus Christ not the LDS church. HE will be the one ruling the earth. If you have a problem with HIS actions then why not tell HIM off instead of the LDS church."

I don't know about you, but it doesn't make me feel any better that they honestly believe it will be Jesus who will put the Mormon Church in political power over the world!

Americans must be suspicious of a candidate who has made secret covenants and oaths, that place loyalties above loyalty to the nation, and are couched in the context of an explicit religious Dominionism and beliefs in an imminent theocracy.
