Lady Gaga Lawsuit

Whiney Assistant Claims Gaga

Demanded Towel After Shower!

12/25/2011 7:08 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lady GagaIn what reads like one of the biggest sour grapes lawsuits of the year, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the singer, having to do such unconscionable things as fetching a towel for her after she showered, and keeping GG on schedule!

Jennifer O'Neill says in her lawsuit ... she worked for Gaga for 13 months, and is owed $380,000 in overtime.  O'Neill says in her suit her job included "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower and serving as a personal alarm clock to keep [Gaga] on schedule."

O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses."

And, O'Neill says, she was required to be at Gaga's beck and call at her "earliest waking hour."

O'Neill is suing for the $380k -- which represents 7,168 hours of overtime during the 13 months.

Gaga is not a defendant.  O'Neill is suing Mermaid Touring Company, which Gaga uses for concerts and what not.

Gaga's rep told the New York Post the suit is "completely without merit."

7168 hours of overtime over 13 months works out to about 18 hours of overtime per day if she was working 7 days per week...or about 21 hours per day if she worked 6 days per week.

So, if overtime pay should start after 8 hours, she was apparently working 26 to 29 hours per day. Of course, if she did that she might be working 12 days per week too.

What she's probably doing is claiming that she was being paid for 40 hours per week while working 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. That would add up to about 7168 hours of overtime if every hour over 40 per week should have been overtime. I've got new for her. She wasn't working 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

She was almost certainly not being paid by the hour to be a personal assistant. Not unless the touring company which employed her is run by zombies. So, basically, she's trying to scam a few years of paid vacation.

I am surprised that she lasted 13 months with that attitude. I hope the courts throw that frivolous lawsuit out - she is wasting taxpayers time and they should fine her for all costs associated with this stupid lawsuit.

The assistant is clear unprofessional. So, what? You served Lady Gaga a towel? That is what assistants do. People like you, eager to make unlawful money shall be on a far distance to any artists.

There are only 8000 and some odd hours in a year, so basically she is claiming to have worked almost a year of overtime in 13 months, a year of overtime without sleep or breaks. Call me a skeptic.

Gaga needs to get herself a better management company. The workers are such whiny babies! I talked to another P.A. of hers who whined about not being allowed to talk to her on tour -- which is pretty much the norm with any artist. As a performer, you only have a certain amount of hours of peace and quiet...it makes sense that they would restrict all of the 30+ crew members from talking to her! Just another case of someone trying to act special.

The math in her lawsuit is way off. There are only about 9400 hours in a 13 month period so how could she possibly be owed more than 7100 hours in OT?

There's a problem here

I'm no fan, but my guess is the bitch figured Gaga to be of the Anna Nicole or MJ mentality and would have an entourage of hangers-on and "yes men" when she signed up for the job. When she discovered Gaga wasn't quite as stupid as she thought she decided to get a few bucks out of the fact that she was made to actually perform the job she was hired for. Good for Lady Gaga for putting the bitch in her place.

There's a problem here

Here's another thought: With the schedule an entertainer such as Lady Gaga keeps do you really think her staff is paid hourly and not salaried? I don't have an MBA degree but I'm thinking there is no way the pay of anyone working that type of job in that industry is paid hourly instead of being salaried. No way.

Now, now, this really takes the cake amongst all of Lady Gaga's quirks. Can you just imagine that this personal assistant has to go fetch a fresh towel every time she showers? Unbelievably shocking! I could not believe that she needs a fresh new towel every time she takes a shower. I am just speechless! I cannot think of anything to say to this personal assistant but I think that taking LG to court is a good start. I am just hoping that they find someone to sympathize with an ******* this audacious!

The ex PA is claiming for nearly 18 hours overtime a day for every day of of the 13 months. She obviously was not hired for her maths skills. If you are going to make bogus claims at least make the figures believable.

There are not that many hours in 13 months for overtime. Apparently she did 18+ hours of overtime every day.
