Lady Gaga Lawsuit

Whiney Assistant Claims Gaga

Demanded Towel After Shower!

12/25/2011 7:08 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lady GagaIn what reads like one of the biggest sour grapes lawsuits of the year, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the singer, having to do such unconscionable things as fetching a towel for her after she showered, and keeping GG on schedule!

Jennifer O'Neill says in her lawsuit ... she worked for Gaga for 13 months, and is owed $380,000 in overtime.  O'Neill says in her suit her job included "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower and serving as a personal alarm clock to keep [Gaga] on schedule."

O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses."

And, O'Neill says, she was required to be at Gaga's beck and call at her "earliest waking hour."

O'Neill is suing for the $380k -- which represents 7,168 hours of overtime during the 13 months.

Gaga is not a defendant.  O'Neill is suing Mermaid Touring Company, which Gaga uses for concerts and what not.

Gaga's rep told the New York Post the suit is "completely without merit."

She is claiming 7168 hours of 'overtime' in 13 months.

13 months = 1 years + 1 month.

Assume that the extra month is only 28 days (4 weeks exactly).

4 weeks + 52 weeks (1 year) = 56 weeks.

56 weeks = 392 days.

392 days = 9408 hours.

56 weeks * 40 hours = 2240 hours of 'regular' time.

9408 hours in 13 months - 2240 hours of 'regular' time = 7168 'overtime' hours...if you were awake and working 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for 13 months straight, which IS what she is claiming.

Personally, I think she's a scam artist and crook. On the other hand, she could be insane. In either case, she's not at all intelligent or she wouldn't be so blindingly stupid as to produce such ridiculously and obviously false nonsense.

Aside from all of that, what personal assistant agrees to work for an 8 hour per day wage rate and then works overtime for free? Did she not notice she was working overtime for 13 months? Her lawsuit is a LOL joke and her lawyer should be fined for bringing the case before the court.

So, given the figures involved in this lawsuit (amount of overtime hours, and amount of money owed), this woman was making approximately $53 an hour at time and a half, making regular 'time' at around $35.50 an hour. I would say that $35 an hour is a perfectly acceptable hourly wage for doing things as mundane as handing a TOWEL to someone or waking her up in the morning. People work in hard labor for less than 1/3 of this hourly wage... handing a towel is ridiculous when you make $72,800 a year at 40 hours a week? Come on. I fully understand if she is owed money/overtime, but make the lawsuit about OVERTIME, not handing a towel to Gaga at $35 an hour. "Omigosh, she made me give her a towel after her shower! And how dare she require me to wake her in the morning, even though that is what I am getting paid to do? How dare she!" Unless she is providing sexual favors, medical services, or anything else that usually pays more than $35 an hour, she cannot complain about handing a towel.

Sincerity

It would seem that Jennifer O'Neill may have "breached" any "confidentiality" agreements she may have signed by mentioning who she worked with and "ANY" details related to this client. I hope that Ms. O'Neill "thoroughly" read the "fine print" related to the terms of her employment with the Mermaid Touring Company. Whatever gripes she had concerning her assignment as Lady GaGa's assistant, should have been referred to them. There could have very well been a "misunderstanding" between what Ms. O'Neill's employer outlined regarding her job duties and what Lady GaGa expected. Furthermore, it wouldn't surprise me, if Mermaid is having problems collecting past due invoices related to disputed billings for hourly wages. These companies will do "ANYTHING" to keep their clients "HAPPY" at the expense of the "general well being" of their employees. Personal assistants come a "DIME A DOZEN" and the "INDIFFERENCE" of their clients simply goes with the territory. The PA's AREN'T paying the "BILLS" and more than likely someone within Lady GaGa's management team has to "APPROVE" Ms. O'Neill's overtime hours which may be in dispute. If the client didn't "APPROVE" her overtime, suing her employer may be a "TOTAL WASTE OF TIME"!!!

A personal Assistant is suppose to take your calls. fetch your coffee and run errands around for and make sure you make your appointments.

fetching towels after your shower is not in the job description. quite frankly it is kinda of demeaning to ask someone to hand you a towel. most normal people can get their own towel when getting out of the show. why can't this freak get her own?

All she had to do was schedule appointments and hand Gaga a towel??? SHUT THE HELL UP!! Some people wish that was all they had to do and get paid thousands of dollars. Go shovel **** and see how you like doing that for minimum wage.

GAGA IF YOU ARE READING THIS WILL HAND YOU A TOWEL AND WAKE YOU UP AT THE BUTT CRACK OF DAWN IF YOU HIRE ME.

Okay, she worked for the one of the most famous singers of our time and she expected banker's hours?????. Excuse me, that is what a personal assistant DOES, especially for someone in Lady Gaga's category. What surprises me is that there is only one. I would think that she would have at least 2 or maybe 3.
Personally, I would never be a personal assistant because I value my time off and my life. If I wanted to be at someone's beck and call and hand them towels, I would get married

People with money want you to kiss their butt. Happens all of the time. Don't degrade yourself for the rich and famous; no matter how much money they have.

She should go to Ebay and get some of that hair growth/thickener serum-you add it into your shampoo. Makes your hair really thick. It's kind of expensive though; but it works. She will look and feel so much better. And stop sucking up to people with money.
