Lady Gaga Lawsuit

Whiney Assistant Claims Gaga

Demanded Towel After Shower!

12/25/2011 7:08 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lady GagaIn what reads like one of the biggest sour grapes lawsuits of the year, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the singer, having to do such unconscionable things as fetching a towel for her after she showered, and keeping GG on schedule!

Jennifer O'Neill says in her lawsuit ... she worked for Gaga for 13 months, and is owed $380,000 in overtime.  O'Neill says in her suit her job included "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower and serving as a personal alarm clock to keep [Gaga] on schedule."

O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses."

And, O'Neill says, she was required to be at Gaga's beck and call at her "earliest waking hour."

O'Neill is suing for the $380k -- which represents 7,168 hours of overtime during the 13 months.

Gaga is not a defendant.  O'Neill is suing Mermaid Touring Company, which Gaga uses for concerts and what not.

Gaga's rep told the New York Post the suit is "completely without merit."

Oh please.... What do you think a personal assistant does? She received a $75,000 salary to get towels, keep her boss on schedule, fed and to perform other tasks necessary to smooth-out the life of a very busy person. If the job was too much for her she could have simply quit. I'm not sure where overtime comes into play with a salaried position. It never did for me. Okay... be that as it may. If she felt she was not fairly compensated for what she considered excessive hours.... why did she let it go on for over 7,000 hours? Only a complete fool would do that. AND... to take a position as a personal assistant and air your views in public later is tacky beyond words. Good luck finding a job for another public figure. This gal is a real Judas.

Your a PERSONAL ASSISTANT not just a regular assistant but a personal. So thats means you do WHATEVER LADY GAGA TOLD YOU DO.thats what personal assistants do is to what your boss told you to do.If she felt like she wasnt getting paid enough she should have quit a long time along

Why are you calling her assistant "whiney"? Are Gaga's demands normal in Hollywood? Really? Glad I don't work there!

Maybe she didn't understand what personal assistant means? Their job is to do everything for the client so they don't have to.

Did she demand a 'towell' or a 'towel', TMZ?

Sounds like she had a decent job. Doesn't sound too bad to get paid to be a personal assistant. In fact I worked as an engineer for 30 years and didn't get much more than what she is asking. We have a generation of wimps and spoiled brats.

Physically impossible. IF she worked 8 hours a day on the clock every day... that would leave 16 hours remaining to work "overtime". Multiply that by 13 months and it doesn't come close to over 7,000 hrs of overtime. Are we to believe that she or GaGa didn't sleep for 13 months either? Stupid beyotch needs a calculator. I'm sure it was a hard knock life living in those high end hotels and flying in lear jets too. boo hoo

That doesn't even make sense.

7168 hours of overtime across 13 months is 18 hours a day of overtime, seven days a week...on top of a 40 hr week.

That means she worked her regular 40 hr job (2236 hrs in 13 months) plus 7168 hours of overtime (9404 hrs total work time for 13 mo. or 397 days), yielding on average, 23 hour days, seven days a week.

That's a stretch. I hate lawyers.

I think TMZ is adding a LOT of extra drama to this.
The woman is listing what she had to do, as part of the description of her lawsuit. It is VERY common to have to do that. You say what you were hired to do, your responsibilities, and are really supposed to leave out NOTHING in that description.

She is also claiming that she is owed overtime for being effectively a 24 hour employee. If she was paid hourly and she worked more than her agreed upon hours or hours mandated by law, then yes she is probably due tons of overtime pay.

If you were an hourly employee, and worked x number of hours and then worked overtime, and then were not payed what you were supposed to, wouldn't you sue?

Really the only issue here is if what her contract was for and if she was compensated to the terms of her contract.

What sort of saddens me a bit, with so many lawyers on staff and Harvey being one, they know this is a very common employment issue and how the responsibilities are enumerated in the law suit.
