Brock Lesnar

Beaten Into Retirement

12/31/2011 5:50 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem
Brock Lesnar knows when to hang it up. He announced he was quitting the whole MMA thing after suffering a lightning fast loss to Alistair Overeem last night at UFC 141.

Lesnar was floored by a brutal kick to the stomach and the fight was stopped at the 2:26 mark of round one. He said after the fight, "I've had a really difficult couple of years with my disease, and I'm going to officially say tonight is the last time."

The former pro wrestling star fought only three times in the last 2.5 years while battling a lower-intestinal disease that nearly killed him.

Overeem, meanwhile, will next fight UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos for a shot at the title.

I am not a UFC or figh*****cher, but just from scrolling down the page and seeing the differences in the two bodies, there could be no doubt who was going to lose! The guy on the right is ripped, sculpted and has lots of muscle tone! The guy on the left looks thick, but has no definition or muscle tone. Might as well have light a $50 bill on fire as to have purchased that PPV!

AT LEAST THE DUDE IS HONEST SAYING HIS CAREER IS OVER AND DONE... UNLIKE DOUCHE BAG BIG MOUTH FLOYD MAYWEATHER WHICH TOOK A 3.5 MOS PRISON SENTENCE TO FINI***** FOR THE CONVICTED FELON. IN FACT, HIS AUTOGRAPH FOTO IS RIGHT BESIDE CHRIS BROWN'S IN THE WARDEN'S OFFICE. #TRUTH!!

Overeem is the better fighter, but if you think Lesnar isn't strong because of what appears to be a chubby midsection, you're mistaken. Take a look at most of the international strongman competitions and the world's olympic weight lifters. Same physique. That is how Brock has always been built.

Brock Lesnar = MMA = UFC. No one has done more to put it on the map as a real sport. Who else do you mention with those acronymns in the same breath? Tito Ortiz? Known more for being married to Jenna Jameson.

Never liked Lesnar since his WWF/WWW days and I still do not care for him. I knew Reem would own him (hey, I won $350 on the bet last night). Overall, Reem has experience on his side. Hasn't lost a fight in 4 years and has a now 36 win streak. Chap's a beast.
I'm looking forward to the eventual Reem vs Dos Santos title fight. But Reem better not fight the way he did with Lesnar or Dos Santos will eat him.

Brock is stronger than reem. Reem was a 205lb, fighter up thru 2005. he lost to chuck ,rua back then. he added hes muscles in the last few years.in fact hes muscles probably would have caused him to gas out if over a few rounds. Brocks been big since college. brock wasnt experienced and trained good enough to fight and win against guys like cain, reem, or JR . sure Jr will beat Reem in a round or two, reem never get the kicks in on him at all.

If my attorney wrote any letter, with his/her email address on it from an AOL, GMAIL, YAHOO (etc.) type of account, I would fire them. It's just not professioinal. How about buying your own domain name and use that for email? LOOKING professional is just as important as BEING professional.

Too bad for Overeem his purse was attached by his former managers and is being sued for breach of contract.

Anyone who thinks Overeem was gonna win becuase of his muscles, has no clue about MMA.Brock lost because in reality he only has a few years of training, years ago that would have been okay.Today MMA fighters have to be well rounding in all forms of combat, and Brocks only chance was taking Overeem to the ground.Overeem muscle mass is not gonna help him when he fights a real MMA fighter,it wiil only slow him down, and give him less range of motion.

Wasn't a kick to the stomach, Knees likely broke at least one rib, Kick to the liver takes breatj energy and will to live away especially when coming from a 256 pound kickboxing legend.

This fight should have NEVER happened. Overeem avoided his DRUG test and flew back to his doctor. He didn't actually pass his "random test" until days later. After he had his system cleaned. This guy was a 205 light heavyweight, in two years he put on 60 pounds of pure muscle. You do the math!! Brock had a shot to be one of the best. Unfortunately his disease cost him his career. You lose a foot of you colon and see if you can maintain fighting the most elite fighters in the world. Overeem is a cheat!! send him back to Japan
