Elin Nordegren

I'm So Rich, I'm Building

The Same House I Knocked Down

1/9/2012 5:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

011012_elin_nordegren_PCN_EXElin Nordegren is SO rich -- she's basically building a replica of the multimillion dollar estate she knocked down

TMZ has obtained renderings Elin submitted to the Palm Beach County Dept. of Planning, Zoning & Building.  The exterior elevation drawing is verrrry similar to the house that was on the $12 million property before Elin razed it. Both are traditional/colonial homes with a very similar shape.  The drawing looks similar to the 9,000 square foot house that was demolished.

Elin's builder told PEOPLE the house Elin 86'd was 90 years old, didn't meet code provisions to withstand hurricanes, and was infested with termites.

Of course, the house Elin builds will be brand spanking new. The supporting documents describe the house in detail.

-- 9 bedrooms
-- 2 large living rooms
-- huge formal dining room
-- 2 kitchens
-- large pool
-- GROTTO!!!
-- pool cabana with HUGE living room
-- 2 jacuzzis
-- detached guest house with 3 bedrooms
-- 3 guest bungalows
-- wine cellar
-- ginormous master wing with crazy big walk in closet
-- basement that runs the entire length of the house

There's 120 feet of retaining walls, and they are bringing in 4100 cubic yards of soil -- which is an enormous amount.

County officials have sent the architect back to the drawing board for some changes before the plans will be approved.

Actually...has anyone thought about all the jobs and money she's pumping into the local economy? Not only did she spend 12 mil (some of which goes to real estate agent commision and taxes)but now new construction jobs, retail purchases...etc... Just a thought.

I'm just not buying this story. Why would her attorneys or realtor allow her to pay full value for what she now says is a condemned property. A well known real estate guy in Palm Beach said he was at the property for a charity event after Elin bought the house. He said it is a beautiful house.

Kev the Realist

Reality Check. First of all how stupid is she or Tiger? When the bought the house, most liely they used an Attorney, even in Florida or a title insurance company and eveyone down there that I know has a house inspection. If the house is infested with termites and you buy it you are an idiot, at a minimum you drop the price and hire a company to tent the property. Next you sue the former seller for fraud in failing to disclose that the house is structurally unsound and finally, this just proves being rich doesn't mean you have any brains. Elin needs to use some money to hire a good Attorney if for nothing else than to protect her so she is not back working as a Nanny again in 3 years when all her cash is gone.

The reason Elin had it torn down was it wasn't up to HURRICANE CODE and it was infested with TERMITES.

Dan Reedy of Onshore Construction and Development, tells PEOPLE. "It wasn't built to the South Florida wind-loading codes of today that were put in place because of hurricanes. We had an architect and a structural engineer out here and everyone agreed that it made more sense – structurally and economically – to tear it down and start over."

That's when termite and carpenter-ant infestations were discovered, says Habitat's director of deconstruction, Bobbi Blodgett.

"When we pulled out the windows, the bugs were everywhere," says Blodgett. "To rebuild that house would have been ridiculous. We're so grateful to Elin. It's rare we get this kind of donation."

TMZ, you all must be blind in one eye and can't see out of the other!

Two different houses. She can do what she wants. Her marriage and divorce were hers to deal with. And you'd take what you could get too.
