Conrad Murray

D.A. Says He's a

Danger to Society

The D.A. is alarmed that Dr. Conrad Murray is asking the trial judge to spring him from the pokey while he appeals his conviction in the death of Michael Jackson -- arguing Murray is a danger to society.

According to the new docs, obtained by TMZ, prosecutors say Murray has shown no remorse for his "reckless and criminal conduct that directly caused Michael Jackson's death."  In other words, the D.A. says Murray just doesn't get it, and he could engage in the same conduct again if the judge lets him loose.

The D.A. also claims Murray is a flight risk, because he no longer has strong ties to California now that his medical license has been revoked.

As for Murray's grounds for appealing the conviction, the D.A. claims they're all bogus.  The D.A. makes mention of the judge's decision to exclude Dr. Arnold Klein's testimony.  Klein gave MJ scores of Demerol shots in the months preceding his death, but the D.A. says no traces of the drug were found in MJ's body at the time of his death.

Strong language Mr. D.A.......all soft with the single under charge.

Murray did not practice medicine in california in the first place. he only had the Cally license in an attempt to cover his ulterior motive of purchasing propofol for the sole purpose of killing michael jackson.

Too funny. I see the same lame stuff going on here still as in Murray's lame mind.

This quack needs to stay right where he is. Has shown no remorse for what he did, and yes to the haters, he did wrong, was tried and convicted on his crime. And as for flight risk and danger to society?? You bet your butt he would be fast out of this country if he was released on bail and he is a danger to society. He didn't think it was wrong to abandon his patient while under that drug, so he probably wouldn't think twice about doing something else stupid too. Murray needs to take his punishment and quit whining like a 2 yr old kid. He caused a death of a human being.

Prosecutors oppose Conrad Murray's bail bid

Michael Jackson's doctor was properly sentenced to four years behind bars in the star's death and should not be released on bail, prosecutors argued Tuesday in a response to his bid for release while his case is appealed.

Prosecutors do not want Conrad Murray to be granted bail. Murray is serving a four-year sentence for his role in Michael Jackson's death.

Conrad Murray would be a danger to the community and a flight risk if he was released on bail or on his own recognizance with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, Deputy District Attorneys David Walgren and Deborah Brazil said.

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a trial focusing on use of the anesthetic propofol as a sleeping medication for the superstar. Jackson died of an overdose of the drug in June 2009.

Murray's four-year jail sentence is the highest term that could be imposed for that crime.

Prosecutors said the sentence was appropriate under the cir***stances and noted it was unlikely Murray would serve more than half that time.

"Michael Jackson died because of a totality of cir***stances directly attributable to the defendant," the motion said. Murray had practiced "a form of highly dangerous and experimental medicine that directly resulted in Mr. Jackson's death," it added.

"Based on his failure to accept responsibility for the decisions he made, his complete lack of remorse and lack of insight into the danger of his criminally negligent conduct, he remains a danger to the community," the motion stated.

It noted that he has many contacts outside the state and out of the country and could flee if released.

The motion also said Murray has not established the existence of any substantial legal question that might result in reversal of his conviction.

His lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan, said in a motion last month that Murray knows he cannot work as a doctor but would find other employment. He suggested the sentence and Murray's mode of confinement is extremely severe for a man with no prior criminal record.

Murray is being held in solitary confinement and is chained to a table when he meets with his lawyers, according to Flanagan, who said Murray is extremely sorrowful about Jackson's death.

Flanagan conceded that Murray made some medical misjudgments but said he never intended harm to Jackson.

With Murray's appeal expected to take more than a year to move through the courts, the attorney said it would be unfair to keep him jailed in the interim. His appeal has not yet been filed. Conceivably, he could serve his entire sentence before the appeal is decided.

A hearing on the motion was set for Friday.

Murray needs to give his head a serious shake, he's going nowhere, better for him if he could just sit down and shut up and serve his sentence, albeit not the right one. When will he get it into his sawdust filled head that he is a murderer, tried and convicted, just a shame we couldn't go back a few hundred years and see his head spiked on a building for all to see, sounds too harsh? no way, it's what he deserves. Flight risk, yes without a doubt.

Hi HumanNature and Pegasus.
Hope you are both well.
Yep he'd be away the first chance he got, who does he think he's kidding saying he'll get employment to support his hundreds of offspring, don't think any employer with an ounce of sense would want him on their payroll. If the idiot instrument has any sense (judging her court appearance she hasn't) she'll change her name and move as far away as possible from Murray and anyone else who knows her, but to be honest the two of them share a brain cell what a shame.
