Kirk Cameron

Blasted by GLAAD

Over Gay Marriage Comments

Kirk Cameron's comments to Piers Morgan on gay marriage are not sitting well with the folks at GLAAD ... who think the former "Growing Pains" star "sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV character."

Cameron said during last night's show that he does not support gay marriage, and when it comes to homosexuality in general ... he said, "I think that it's ... unnatural. I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

Herndon Graddick, Senior Director of Programs at GLAAD, tells TMZ he feels Cameron, a Born Again Christian, is "out of step with a vast majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation."

A GLAAD spokesman says they plan on monitoring Cameron's media bookings and various acting gigs to ensure "the news and entertainment industry is aware of his outrageous anti-gay views."

It really doesn't amaze me anymore after reading the ridiculous comments that have no real substance. More like ranting and raving and REBUTTALS such as jamin. What bible readers don't understand is that all theses phrases and wordings that are thrown out at gay people such as myself were written by MAN. A bunch of drunk guys got together, sat down and wrote all that crap. Most of the comments are soooo directed towards gay MEN. The nasty things about shoving their c*cks in each others *sses. I mean really. Ignorance is no excuse. Not all gay men have anal intercourse. And there are straight people who do. America's problems lie within our culture to accept people for people. Our country still has stigmas with blacks, black and whites together, gay people, islams, chinese etc... Unlike the european countries. The blacks over there are way more refined and educated. America doesn't take time time to teach better living such as self esteem, hygeine, work ethics, respect for people etc... America just keeps handing out more welfare, housing, vouchers etc... As a gay man I really could care less what Kirk had to say about gay marriage. He is only one person. Let him take his MARBLES and go home. I DO NOT agree with Gladd for pursuing Kirk because it is a waste of time and they should direct their energy to a more useful purpose.

He is just as entitled to his as opinion as everyone else. GLAAD isn't the "final authority" on whether homosexuality is right or whether it's not. Nobody is born a homosexual. It's a life choice. The reason why homosexuals, namely members of GLAAD, are so upset about Kirk Cameron's opinion is because they aren't so sure about it themselves. If they were 100% confident that homosexuality is "right" they wouldn't feel the need to attack every person who disagrees with it.

REPLY to PTR: So then you mean to tell me that at 5 years old I decided to be a homosexual? LOL. That's when I can fondly relate back to the earliest time in my life that I was attracted to men not women. Amazing how you are so intelligent to come up with the answer to why and how people become homosexuals. LOL. But that's ok. Your intiteled to your oppinion. LOL

Kirk Cameron's opinion is his own and opinions are never wrong. GLAAD is frightful of represssion of gays and lesbians and yet they want to repress anyone and everyone who don't feel the same way they do! Its our FIRST right to have our OWN opinions.

I agree with Kirk. People are so afraid anymore to say anything for fear of being ridiculed. I know gay people. I don't believe in their way of life but I don't hate them. I do not accept what they do and they will be judged by the same God I'm judged by in the end. Kirk Cameron said what a lot of us believe but won't say. Thanks Kirk for not hiding behind a fake face, pretending all is right in the world when it isn't.

Kirk is 100% correct. His beliefs aren't 'outrageous' they're the same as the majority of Christians in this country, in the world actually. Just because the media continues to throw homosexual situations and people at us doesn't mean we have to deny our beliefs and accept that lifestyle. That said, we are all sinners, nobody is perfect. Christians should not condem anyone else for sins committed, we, ultimately aren't the judge.

Being Real

While I believe that every person should have the same rights, no matter their sexual orientation, he is right about it being destructive to civilization. While you cannot help being born with a specific trait or gene, and no matter how much you try to rationalize it, gay people cannot procreate. For example, if you were to take one straight couple and one gay couple and put them on two different islands and tell them to start a new civilization, which civilization do you think will survive? So in that sense alone it proves that it is unnatural, but again, that doesn't mean they shouldn't have the same rights. We are all human beings.

I find it hilarious that Kirk speaks what he believes and we bash him. He wasn't pushing it down anyone's throat. He was asked how HE felt about something and he gave his answer on HIS views. It's okay to have your own opinion, and good for you for speaking it truly. Believe it or not, some people don't choose to conform simply for the acceptance of others.

In response to the recent media "tar & feather" attacks, spurred on by GLAAD: Kirk Cameron, is a classy guy -- as he is also intelligent. He's entitled to his own set of beliefs and opinions, just as we all are. And, just because seven states are for it -- doesn't mean everyone is, or should be. What is idiotic -- is when some people disagree with others, they're automatically labeled as being a "zealot, idiot, hater, hypocrite, etc..." -- while expressing their personal views, and taking a stand on their core values of life.
