'American Idol'

Contestant Will Be Kicked Off

For Concealing Crimes

3/13/2012 5:41 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A contestant on "American Idol" will be kicked off the show Wednesday because the singer concealed multiple crimes from producers ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the show tell us ... the contestant -- one of the final 12 -- was charged with 2 crimes in 2011, one involving violence. We're told in both cases the contestant gave a fake name to cops when arrested.

In addition, we're told the contestant has outstanding warrants -- again, the singer concealed it from producers.

We're told the contestant was confronted with the information on camera today and the footage will air on Wednesday's show.

I've known jermaine jones for a long time he may have had problems in his life as everyone else, but if we stop and look at all the singer in the world who does not have a record. I would even bet steven taylor may have been picked up for one thing or another so lets not judge a book by its cover and give this young man a chance, the lord is the only one that can judge would not have brought him back if he was't any good let him stay and let it be america the one to decide if stays or go's

Oh come on. Background checks are SIMPLE and AI knows this. This is all set up for DRAMA and ratings. How do I know? I used to do it for a living. It's a no brainer.

1. AI doesn't need a stunt to boost ratings...there were 30million votes recorded for the last show and not every viewer votes.

2. The contestants are advised prior to going to Hollywood that certain criminal convictions can and do exclude the contestant from competing. If the contestant chooses to lie and cover up their criminal past, they risk the embarrassment that this guy will have.

No one has done this guy wrong. The rules are presented to each contestant. They can choose to proceed in the competition agreeing to and knowing what the rules are or they can choose not to.

I feel the executives of American Idol are racist and had no reason to show the removing of the contestant of the show. There have been other people kicked off and they did not interview them when they were kicked off. I will never watch the show again. The show should be renamed "America At Its Best still a racist country for some people. If I were him I would sue the **** out of them....get your self a attorney and sue those racist bastards.....Ryan Seacrest needs to go to he is getting old now to host the show...

Did they really have to interview him on TV? What a shame. They never interviewed the other 7 or eight contestants on camera.

If you have a past its one thing but if you have a current situations that you havent taken care of well then you're really a bad boy with a lot of arrogance going on national television. It's really a stupid thing to do. Wave your hands and say " here I am come and get me".
