You know that Acura commercial with Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno that aired during the Super Bowl -- well, we got hold of the casting call document, and they were very specific/exclusionary about their dream African American car dealer.

According to the casting doc, the role of African American car dealer would be played by a "Nice looking, friendly, Not too dark" African American car dealer.

Casting document for the Acura NSX Super Bowl Commercial
We just got hold of the document from an African American actor who didn't fit the profile, and who's pissed.

We made lots of calls, trying to find out why "dark" African Americans weren't right for the role.  Someone associated with casting the commercial tells us ... one of the reasons for the "not too dark" restriction was because lighting and special effects would get tricky.

We made calls to Acura but no one got back to us.

update_bar
Acura just apologized for the wording in the casting call document -- claiming, "We apologize to anyone offended by the language."

Maybe the actor that stole the casting sheet should get arrested for theft? Seriously it's Acuras' business who they prefer to represent them and they shouldn't have to apologize for anything whatever reason they wanted a not too dark actor is their business. Whether its due to lighting needs or jsut preference for lighter skinned actors. This country is getting way to concerned about what is "PC" and the public getting too bent out of shape over so very little.

Shocking that no one will cry outrage for the fact the sheet asked for only black actors..Oh thats right THATS OK.. now lets reverse it and see how fast Al Sharpton shows up for his photo op!!

I'd say a boycott of the product will show that they should have cast the ommercial differently. I also take offense to the nice looking and friendly requests also. Afraid of the scary looking dark skinned black man? Please I'm going to get rid of my Acura!

this is just so wrong, I cannot believe it. First, isn't it against the law to specify any race of a person in a printed employment ad. It sounds like "african american car dealer" is a fictional character that doesn't exist in real life. then to exclude darker skin tones is the epitome of racist mentality.

WTF

The comments on this article are shockingly stupid, even for TMZ. And for all you white people whining that you should sue because they weren't going to cast a white person, what is stopping you? Either you know you're being an idiot and lack a fundamental understanding of what racism is and what it entails or you're too cowardly to put your money where your mouth is and actually stand up for the sh!t you believe.

Everyone has an opinion, But not everyone can tell you how to spend your Money, If Blacks were truly smart they would not buy Toyota, Suzukie, Honda, Hyundi, or any other foreign vehicles,
