Ma$e

Can't Nobody Hold Me Down

... Except the I.R.S.

4/23/2012 3:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

Mase
Is Diddy's former prodige Ma$e caught up on his income tax payments? Eh-Eh,  Eh-Eh.

According to documents filed in Florida by the IRS, Ma$e owes a total of $124,774.85 in back taxes ... stemming from the years 2000, 2001 and 2004.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Ma$e retired from the music business in 1999 after saying he got a "calling from God." After a turn with the ministry, Ma$e returned with an album in (you guessed it) 2004.

A call to Ma$e's rep was not returned.

Boondoggle

Note to Harvey Levin: Please educate your TMZ staffers. I mean on basic vocabulary and grammar. Do this immediately.

Ex. in this particular "news" posting: There is "prodigy," and there is "protege," but there is not a word (at least in the English language) "prodige." If we were on a French-language website, perhaps.

Lesson: TMZ staffers should use a REAL dictionary rather than Googling "urban dictionary"--have a little journalistic self-respect, for pete's sake. I mean, at least pretend to TRY.

Everyone knows who Ma$e (Mason Betha) is. You probably don't know the man's name, but in the late 90's his voice was all over the radio.

Article writer, I think you "prodigy", not "prodige", which is still incorrect anyway. Ma$e was not Puffy's prodigy; he was Mase Murda in the underground long before he signed to Bad Boy, where Puffy was attempting to mainstream him and make money off him (which he did).

On a side note, the article title was absolute comedy.
