'Hunger Games' Star

Tricks Grocery Store

Into Selling Him Whiskey

4/28/2012 6:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

Josh Hutcherson took a not-so-cheap shot at a Ralphs Grocery store
19-year-old "Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson took a not-so-cheap shot at a Ralph's Grocery store -- he posed as over 21 and got the check out clerk to sell him an expensive bottle of whiskey.

We got this pic of Josh leaving the Ralph's in Sherman Oaks on April 18 with a bottle of Macallan whisky in hand -- which, by the way, goes for $170.

A source tells TMZ ... Josh used a fake ID to score the bottle.

It's interesting ... a few weeks ago we got Josh on camera, grousing, "I think the age to go to war is 18 ... so I think the drinking age should be 18 as well."

A spokesperson for Ralphs tells TMZ, "We strictly enforce all laws relating to the sale of alcohol to minors.  We will investigate these allegations and take any steps necessary."

Josh could be prosecuted and the maximum punishment is 6 months in jail, although in reality he'd spend no time behind bars.  Authorities could also go after Ralph's for selling to a minor.

We reached out to Josh's rep.  So far, no comment.

I love how all the comments are going on about "how TMZ are snitches lawl" Listen pal, this is their job..They kinda do this for a living and they need to get the details out, no matter what. I'm sure the employee is fine, I wouldn't be upset at all, infact I would kinda giggle. The point is we shouldnt be pointing a finger because even if they did leave the grocery store out, its still on the bag logo smart people

Relating back to the idiot, I always hated Peeta's character in the books and movie, and now I see why.

So he possibly got some guy fired, a business to lose its license, probably fined and inspired thousands of youth to try to buy liquor; what a guy. At least it wasn't pot because pot kills 5,000 children each year in parental car crashes - wait, that is alcohol.

Shame on you TMZ! Leave things alone and stop causing trouble. You just made a big mess. Josh has redirected all his current fame and success to shed light on worthy causes, and not from a distance. He's actually one of the few really good celebs out there. Go after someone who sucks if you really want to!

This kid has no respect for the laws of our country. I could care less what his personal feelings are - the law is the law, and unless it changes, follow it or get arrested. I hate celebrities that think they can do whatever they want because they're famous.

Way to go TMZ his rep has not returned your calls and more than likely will not because guess what? Nothing will happen to him or this Josh person. However the clerk at the store who may need this job to support his family will surely lose his job if for nothing else all the heat this will bring to them. Hope you all have a great weekend as the job market is not the best right now but why should this bother you all?

This little ass hole could cost the emplyee his/her job and he could care less. He could also have Ralph's have that department closed down for 30, 90 days or for ever and if it would be ever they might close that store down completely and ever one in that store would lose there jobs. So, the little ass hole should have his ass kicked.

I get that he might think he can get away with it because he is Josh Hutcherson, but the law is the law. I'm a huge fan of his, but you need to respect the law, no matter who you are or if you're famous or a regular person. Laws exist for a reason. To keep everything in order and everyone safe.

I wouldn't worry so much about a Hunger Games franchise for this kid. He'll be in rehab soon anyway. If he's so concerned about the drinking age being lowered to 18 then he's already got a drinking problem. Gee, an actor with a drinking problem, how original.
