Facebook Stock PLUMMETS

Tough morning for The Zuck -- after a lackluster debut ... Facebook stock is sinking like a stone this morning ... down more than 11% from its opening price.

As of 7:32 AM PDT ... FB had fallen to $33.97 per share ... down $4.26 from its closing price on Friday.

According to MSN.com, the stock was down as much as 14% earlier in the morning.

FYI -- Facebook debuted at $38-per-share ... and many hoped it would explode. It didn't.

Of course, we're still a long way from the closing bell ... and a lot could happen -- good or bad.

Stay tuned ...

A stock price that adjusts 10-12% the day after the IPO is hardling PLUMMETING. Try 50%, then I'll agree with your terminology.

This is a true testament to the American way. We want profit NOW. They bought FB stock yesterday and expect to be millionaires the next day. What is that? The very nature of the stock market is that it fluctuates EVERYDAY. Up and down. It will always go up and sometimes it will be down. What's the frenzy for? This is what happens with every other company on Nasdaq. The whole world is connecting through facebook. Everyone is one there, families, businesses, artists..... there's no way that 900mil people are going to come to agreement and all delete their accounts on the same day.... who u kidding. There will be a huge benefit of owning FB.... only it will be 50 years from now... He's going to do BIG things people...watch.

Could it be that since that day, FB has been a mess..All kinds of ads for ridiculous crap that no one wants to see. I am not shocked by this. GM pulled out for a reason. Perhaps the marketing people at FB should take another look at what is going on. If you want people to invest in your company, you have to give them something to invest in.

There is no revenue model that supports the valuation. Initial investors rushed to get this to IPO so that they could get their initial investments out before it turned into MySpace. The Companies that took Facebook public propped up the stock price for the first day by buying shares they didn't want. Now they are dumping the shares before it is too late to get out.

Isn't getting married supposed to drive up your business not bring it crashing down?

Well there is no sense of buying stock in a company that doesn't make money.
Facebook only makes money off the small ads they put on the side of the site (which really only makes enough money to pay their employees).

The reason for the IPO was to make Mark rich not the stock holders and people saw through that.

I love the amount of hate for FB in these posts. If only everybody felt the same way and that stupid fad would die already.
