Legendary Horror Writer

Sued by Ex-Boyfriend --

6/6/2012 3:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Legendary horror maven Clive Barker -- who's responsible for the "Candyman" and "Hellraiser" franchises -- gave his ex-boyfriend HIV ... and then kicked him out on the street ... this according to claims in a new lawsuit.

Emilian David Armstrong says in the suit ... he met Barker in early 1996, and they quickly moved in together.   Armstrong had a daughter from a previous heterosexual relationship.  She also moved in.

Armstrong says in November, 1996, he was diagnosed with HIV.  The suit claims Barker had tested positive and had urged Armstrong to get tested.  Armstrong is convinced -- Barker gave him HIV.

Armstrong says Barker confessed he had previously engaged in a sexual relationship with his own cousin, who had AIDS -- and also engaged in sadomasochism in prior relationships that involved syringes.

As for why Armstrong waited 16 years to file a lawsuit -- Armstrong says he and Barker tried to work out their relationship and battle the virus together ... but things started to go south in 2003.

According to the lawsuit, that's when Barker became addicted to prescription painkillers such as Vicodin, Percocet, Demerol, and Oxycodone. Armstrong claims Barker would mix these drugs with alcohol, cocaine, and/or crystal meth and use them for recreation.

But Armstrong says he still didn't give up on the relationship -- and tried to help Barker through his drug problems ... but they only got worse.  Armstrong says Barker started throwing drug-fueled parties with young men ranging in age from 19 to early 20's.

The suit claims in 2009, Barker kicked Armstrong out of his house -- along with Armstrong's daughter -- and left them destitute.

Armstrong claims he was a partner in Barker's business ventures and is entitled to a cut of the profits.  He also says he was promised support for life.

We contacted Barker -- so far, no word back.

If there's any "TRUTH" to these allegations, Clive Barker is truly a "HOT MESS"!!! However, I DON'T THINK "HIGHLY" OF ARMSTRONG exposing his daughter to such "EXCESSIVE DEBAUCHERY"!!! Of course, considering how long they actually lived together, he may be entitled to some "FINANCIAL COMPENSATION" especially if it "CAN BE PROVEN", that Clive Barker infected him with HIV. Of course, Clive Barker can always counter that Armstrong infected "HIM" with HIV. It would be somewhat "INTERESTING" to know "WHY' Clive Barker evicted without "ANY" FINANCIAL SUPPORT!!!

just my opinion

This guy has no case. He was better off suing when he tested positive considering Barker already knew he was positive. OR he should have sued if Barker had sex with his cousin knowing he had HIV and neglected to tell's really all very messy but he put his daughter in a very sick and disgusting position if these tales are true. He was willing to trade his health for money? disgusting. I hope his daughter comes out emotionally healthy.

And this is why we use condoms until minimum 6 months after the last sexual partner (or dirty syringe), and a clean test (never stop if faithfulness is questioned). It's not hard.

Wendy A.

This is reminiscent of Rock Hudson. If you are young and do not know who he is , Google him.

Barker revealed years ago that he was hiv positive. I wonder though, if armstrong was able to test positive so quickly after being infected?
They met in 1996, Barker learned he was positive in 96, would armstrong (assuming he was neg then), be able to become positive so soon?

Ha! Armstrong, now you know what it is like to be a middle aged woman being traded in for a 19 or 20 yr old trophy girlfriend. It happens all the time, especially in Hollywood.

It sounds more like you are bitter, and you would have been sued if you went public, but in a lawsuit you can air all your dirty laundry inside the legal papers of a lawsuit. I wonder if all these up and coming gay men know they were exposed to HIV. I guess now that it is not a death sentence people don't care as much.

Yikes! Speaking as a straight guy, because I think women are awesome, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I'll never understand homosexuality but HIV affects both the straight and gay populations equally. Unfortunately, I think a cure will be dragged out because there is just too much money to be made in prolonging a solution, much like cancer research.

What works for me with the picture:

1. He looks camera-right as if this wasn't planned.

2. He used "Just For Men" two days before.

3. He's really, really tan.

There was a Harvard study just done - it concluded that tan-men gain more in the way of settlements.

As much as 56 percent more - when one is tan.

Initially frightened me.

Feared it might be an accuse against a hero:

Wes Craven.
