Stuttering 'AGT' Contestant

On the Chopping Block

OVER LIES

EXCLUSIVE

Producers of "America's Got Talent" are going to edit stuttering G.I. fraud Timothy Poe's appearance in the upcoming Las Vegas show ... the open question is whether Poe will be 86'd from the show altogether.

TMZ broke the story ... Timothy is NOT the soldier in a photo used during his melodramatic audition segment Monday night -- and the army has no record he was ever injured in Afghanistan ... as he had claimed.

"AGT" producers told TMZ Tim gave them the photo -- and they aired it without questioning him.

Sources connected with the show tell us ... there will "definitely be edits" and producers are currently discussing exactly what they will cut and what if anything they will keep.

We just spoke with "AGT" judge Howie Mandel, who tells us, "I was blown away that I was totally taken in," adding, "I'm really angry with the guy."

Howie believes Poe won't be disqualified from the show. Rather, he thinks producers will let Poe continue performing, but now he'll be known as a liar and not a war hero. Good luck in front of Howard Stern.

Howard did address this and said wait until we see him in Vegas. He was very vague but I hope they do vote him off there, then they won't have to air his footage.

It's a bad thing to lie about but America asked for it. Viewers vote for the contestants who have the "hard lives" and have "over come hardships". The people who have not had traumatic experiences but are simply just good at the talent they are showing or just want there career to take off don't get a second look. These are talent competitions so how come ABDC, American Idol, America's Got Talent ect, are always showing sob stories. And if you really think all those stories are true then your a fool. People with illnesses and who have been in real accidents would be just as offended if 1/2 the stories were looked into. If we recognized talent for talent rather than demanding a heart wrenching story from the contestants people like Tim wouldn't have to lie or stretch the truth in order to get the judges and audiences attention. No one deserves to be publicly humiliated, what happened to peoples ethics. Tim's story may not have been the truth but he told a story that has happened else where. Should he have said what he said to get the publicity no, but he isn't the only one to blame. Lay off the guy. America we have way worse people to "publicly humiliate" or put on blast.

He joined the service thats more than any judge on a tv show can say, more than i can say, and more than most of the country can say. I have friends in the marines and what they do is something that can't ever be over looked to me and i will never think they're doing any less than any other man or women who has served. One soldiers story does not trump another, my heart reaches out individually to every person who has served or is serving as well as their families. I have never personally serve so I won't judge the reactions of those that have. But that is between all the heros out there and this guy. If anything it has gotten our military back into America's thoughts and back on the news. Maybe this will bring America back together and help us remember there are wars still going on and men and women are still dying. Post those stories not this phony one, give those men and women the recognition they deserve in the 60 seconds this story took up we could have honored some of OUR war HEROS.

he is as much of a traitor as bradley manning. he not only betrayed current servicemembers, he betrayed past and future servicemembers as well. the national guard had to work its ass of to beat the weekend warrior rep it had pre 9-11. he just single handedly knocked us back down a few pegs.

Snowman with a Turnip Nose

So, they finally ran out of "my mom has cancer and my dad is an alkie" stories?

In the current political climate in which every dillhole who spent 2 minutes in any kind of mall cop uniform gets his dcik sucked by the media and the public by default something like this had to happen. Next up will be a guy who can't sing in key for even a second because he's a "firefighter" and "damaged his lungs" while "serving his country". And America will be moved to tears... again.

It is getting more & more painful trying to actually listen to the singers without being overwhelmed by the "noise" of the music/audience. I just give up trying to enjoy this.
