Cardinals Fan

'Modern Family' Actor

STARTED Dodgers Fight

EXCLUSIVE

"Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet picked the fight between himself and a Cardinals fan this weekend at the Dodgers game -- this according to the Cardinals fan, who tells TMZ, Stonestreet took a friendly rivalry WAAAY over the line.

The Cardinals fan in question -- a guy named Michael Gallagher -- says the drama began when he heckled Matt Kemp for grounding out at the bottom of the 8th.

Gallagher says he yelled, "Hey Kemp, 0 for 4, nice job!" ... and Kemp rolled his eyes, laughing it off.

According to Gallagher, Stonestreet was sitting next to him and yelled back, "Matt Kemp should've come over and punched you in the face."

Gallagher claims Stonestreet then approached a security guard and said something to the effect of ... "Someone needs to kick this guy's ass."

Gallagher tells us, Stonestreet continued to yell insults at him and his friend, such as "Nice v-neck" -- and finally his friend snapped, yelling back, "Well you're a fat ass!"

According to Gallagher, that's when things got out of hand -- and the actor came over to exchange words up close.

Security quickly intervened and escorted everyone up to the main concourse -- at which point Gallagher says Stonestreet whipped out the infamous line ... "Don't you know who I am?"

Gallagher says security let Stonestreet go back to his seat, but kicked him and his friend out -- for no good reason. As for Stonestreet, the "Modern Family" actor told us nothing happened, despite admitting he was escorted out of his seat.

Eric Stonestreet is an ass in real life. Not at all like his character on Modern Family. I unfollowed him on twitter after he made a rude comment to a fan and blocked her for no reason.

"Don't you know who I am?" LOL! I love when D-List actors use that line. And Eric, you're a doosh for using that line. You keep this up and no one will want to know who you are.

I've never seen Modern Family. Is that a cartoon with an adult baby? Anyways, it's true. The guy's a fat ass. He was probably boozing it up out there on those $15 Dodger Bud Lights. Pass on the cake and eat some fruit fatty.

Of course that would happen in LA.
In St Louis, even the arch enemy Cubs fans are treated with respect.
..Rude dude gets removed. and then says, "Do you know who I am?"
Being famous is no reason to get rude and hostile.

I was at the game and Eric only did what all of us around them wanted to do. The v-neck guy and his friends were drunk and obnoxious the whole game. Cussing, heckling, standing up and blocking others' views throughout. I'm no saint, but you don't cuss and act the way they did around little kids, and that was what had everyone so upset. The video cuts off before you can hear everyone cheer when they were escorted away. Bashing Eric is just stupid. Grats, Michael, you and your buddy get your 15 mins of fame for being a dbag.

Throwback kid

I'm surprised Stonestreet was even at a baseball game? with his girth it looks like he would be more comfortable at the Nathnn's hot dog eating contest. In fact this fat boy looks like he could be one of the hot dog eaters, stop getting into fights with fans and get on a treadmill already fat boy!

Um... this story indicates that Michael Gallagher was the one being @sshole I started sh*t. Eric is right, Matt Kemp should have punched Michael right in his fat, ugly face. There is no call for heckling/harassing the players. I'd like to see Michael hit a ball? And not just shove nachos in his giant face? Dumb @ss.
