Miley Cyrus

Intruder Sentenced

to Year-and-a-Half in Jail

10/12/2012 1:42 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The scissor-wielding man who snuck onto Miley Cyrus' property last month has just been sentenced to 18 months in jail for trespassing and resisting arrest ... TMZ has learned.

The L.A. City Attorney tells TMZ, Jason Luis Rivera refused probation for some unknown reason, meaning Rivera received a cut-and-dry jail sentence with no strings attached.

FYI -- 18 months is the MAXIMUM sentence for his crimes.

Rivera is currently in custody and will begin serving his sentence immediately. The temporary restraining order -- blocking Rivera from going near Miley and her home -- was NOT extended as part of the sentencing.

Deputy City Attorney Joshua Geller tells us, “I advised [Miley's] legal team to get a restraining order immediately."

Not a win for justice, but a win for the Prison Industrial Complex, another vampire industry forever sucking blood from those who actually pay taxes.

When I read day after day about celebrities who commit much worse crimes and get arrested five times a month and serve no time at all, I find it hard to give any f.u.c.k.s about this. Celebrity commits a horrible crime and gets off with nothing more than a lecture from the judge, but if you commit a crime against a celebrity, you get the absolute maximum sentence. Besides that... He probably waved his right to probation because he'll be better taken care of in prison than he will being out on probation. There have been a string of crimes committed by homeless people and people dying of treatable illnesses just so they can get arrested and put in jail so they can have food, a warm place to sleep and free medical care.

So let me get this straight... STALKERS, CHILD MOLESTERS, and RAPISTS get a slap on the wrist so they can get out and perhaps succeed at harming someone the next time they try or at least have a lil time to make a better plan before they get out, but we got people doin LIFE SENTENCES for drug charges? I am not saying drugs are "ok" but a drug dealer should not get MORE TIME than a stalker/rapist something is wrong with this country.
