Jay Leno

CRAZY Motorcycle Crash

Footage Surfaces

Video footage of a motorcycle accident that nearly wiped out Jay Leno has surfaced ... one year after the crash -- and now, it could prove the WRONG PERSON was blamed for causing the collision.

Leno and the motorcyclists involved in the collision were taking part in a charity benefit called the "Love Ride" last October when the accident occurred on an L.A. freeway.

You can see in the tape -- recorded via helmet cam -- a bike with two riders speeds up from behind and slams into another motorcycle, causing a massive wreck that nearly takes out Leno ... who was riding just feet away.

The woman who captured the crash on camera -- Christina Silva -- was subsequently blamed for the crash and was banned from participating in this year's "Love Ride" ... but she insists the video shows she did NOTHING wrong.

In fact, Silva tells us the people who pointed the finger at her were the two riders who rear-ended the other biker. It's unclear why they feel Silva is at fault.

Christina tells us she has decided to release the tape to clear her name. It's unclear if the people who run the "Love Ride" have seen the footage.

Seems like the ones who started the wipeout were coming up from behind her too fast, and they tried to dodge to the side but ended up rear-ending a different bike.

Looked to me like the bike that crashed was going too fast . I mean way too fast. I heard screeching tires. You have to really brake hard on a bike to get that noise and I think the rider used too much rear brake and not enough front brake.

The helmet cam rider did not do anything wrong as far as I can tell.

I always knew his bizarre chin would come in handy someday.

Why would you not release this tape the instant they accused you? She let herself take the blame which means the clearly negligent driver could participate again if he chose...

Those riders were mostly idiots with little to no riding skill. They were taking up all 3 lanes, surrounding traffic and never had safe distance between bikes. What a bunch of morons. I ride but wouldn't dream of riding with these poseurs.

"Almost wiped out" Leno was not involved in the crash at all, but His Celebritiness in the vid makes this newsworthy?

Dam Bike runs are gonna get someone killed more then not. Have been on many over my years, ya get 100 bikes in a pact and when the leader turns the corner they like to take off like they are dam solo. Well now every one behind is going faster trying to catch up to the Dumb-A** that started it all (ya you road captains know who i am talking about) so then the lead starts to get into traffic and then you get what you seen in the video.

If you hit someone from behind, it's YOUR fault.

you people are looking AT the wreck, look ahead of it..there is a bike that slams on its brakes, the bike with the white saddle bags slows down and then gets hit from the rear..the camera woman IS speeding up but has nothing to do with the wreck itself..it happens all the time and Ill bet they were breaking the speed limit as they were escorted by a CHP cruiser
