George Lucas

NEW 'STAR WARS' MOVIE

Disney Buys Lucasfilm for $4 Bil

If George Lucas wasn't rich before, he sure as hell is now -- because Disney just bought his movie company Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 BILLION ... and has already announced a NEW STAR WARS MOVIE!!!

Lucas said in a statement, "It's now time for me to pass 'Star Wars' on to a new generation of filmmakers." According to Disney, "Star Wars: Episode 7" is slated for release in 2015.

Lucas will be a "creative consultant" on all new "Star Wars" films.

It's pretty crazy ... considering Lucas said he would never make another "Star Wars" movie -- telling the New York Times, "Why would I make any more, when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?"

Lucas even told us directly back in March ... "Star Wars" was DEAD forever.

OH NO!

It's not like Disney could screw it up any worse than Lucas has!

I haven`t watched any Star Wars movie but the last three were kind of dissapoiting for the fans and the question is why they want to make another one?

I'd dig seeing Christopher Nolan or JJ Abrams take a swing at the Star Wars franchise. Why not?

Maybe now Disney will release the original trilogy's theatrical cut on blu-ray. Always hated how much Lucas has altered those movies over the years. I'm glad he's sold it. He lost his touch decades ago.

I guess Episodes I, II, and III already hurt the Star Wars legacy so why not completely destroy it by adding Episode VII? At least he’s not adding more stupid changes to IV, V, and VI. Maybe he already figured he’d damaged them enough? Nah, I don’t think he’s that bright.

He announced a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away, that he originally envisioned Star Wars as 3 trilogies, 9 films in all. After he got finished with the 2nd trilogy I think he had just had enough and said no more. Good for him passing the torch. Enjoy your money.

Diamond Goddess!

Can this rich douche be any MORE money-grubbing?
With Disney involved, those movies are only going to be WORSE (hard to believe)!
Way to dilute your "brand"; but, oh, it was REALLY all about the MONEY the whole time anyway.
And what a BABY for whining about the deserved criticism for the CRAP he puts out!
