Lindsay Lohan

IRS Seizes Bank Accounts

12/3/2012 4:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

As if she weren't royally screwed enough ... Lindsay Lohan's tax problems have become so extreme ... the IRS has seized ALL of her bank accounts in order to repay her massive outstanding debt.

As we reported, Uncle Sam has filed tax liens against Lindsay for the years 2009 and 2010 -- claiming she owes $233,904 in unpaid federal taxes.

Charlie Sheen generously paid Lindsay $100,000 to help alleviate Lindsay's 2009 tax problem -- but we're told Charlie's check barely scratched the surface ... because Lindsay also owes money for 2011.

The IRS has given Lindsay ample time to pay up -- but the Man's tired of waiting ... so we're told the IRS has seized ALL her bank accounts in order to settle her debt.

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, she's in full-on panic mode about her financial situation, and is desperately trying to make some cash to get out of the red.

Well, I have to admit that I'm not very surprised with this story.

Honestly, I just can not understand how is it possible to earn so much money and do not pay taxes. Probably I would understand if there would be some serious reasons which wouldn’t allow her to do that, but in case you are one of the best paid Hollywood actresses, then taxes should not be a problem for you. Some people who live through one hour payday loans no fax and can not pay taxes because they really have no money, but this occasion is really strange. She should take more care of her reputation, I think.

The Internal Revenue Service or IRS has a tremendous amount of power to take the property of individuals who are delinquent in paying their taxes. One of the most common methods used by the IRS is the seizing of the tax payer’s accounts. Furthermore, the IRS enjoys special protections that do not apply to other federal agencies. For instance, most of the remedies for abusive collection activities do not apply to federal tax collection. Therefore, often the only remedy to the IRS’s method of collection is to actually pay what is owed.

The people closest to her in the interest of loving and helping her are doing nothing but enabling her and telling her what she wants to hear, with Mom Dina at the top of the list. She is an adult and responsible for her own debts, and she hasn't hit bottom yet - someone always rescues her - and until she does, she will continue on the same self-destructive path. It's all about everyone else to her. They're all out to get her, picking on her. When you are a victim you feel powerful, but you are at your most powerless. To her, the universe is out to get her, and this tax business is just further evidence to that, and not any result of her own actions.
