Kate Middleton Hospital Prank

First Photo of Nurse

Who Killed Herself

breaking news

Jacintha Saldanha
Finally putting a face to name, the first photo of the nurse from Kate Middleton's hospital who committed suicide hours after two Australian DJ's pranked her has just been released.

Scotland Yard sent out the haunting snap-shot of Jacintha Saldanha -- the nurse on-call at King Edward VII Hospital in London -- who was duped by two radio DJs pretending to be the Queen of England and Prince Charles.

According to Scotland Yard, the 46-year-old Saldanha was pronounced dead on scene Friday and her death is currently listed as "unexplained." An autopsy will be held next week.

Saldanha's family issued a statement. saying, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Jacintha. We would ask that the media respect out privacy at this difficult time."

The Australian radio station behind the phony phone call also issued a statement Saturday, stating it did nothing wrong and there was no way to have foreseen the tragic outcome.

As TMZ previously reported, the two DJ's behind the phone call have since suspended themselves from the airwaves.

I think this lady probably had problems prior to this whole scandal. Nobody who is completely sane kills themselves over something like this alone.

I have read a lot of comments.
But people need to realize that this isn't the DJ fault.
IF I were to blame someone I would blame THE ROYAL FAMILY ENTOURAGE.
They should have immedialy called and talk to this nurse and do damage control.Telling her it's ok and they have had worst PR problem.
The pressure the poor nurse endured during this time could have been avoided if Someone had told her that she messed up but it was ALRIGHT.

The DJ should not be at fault whatsoever ,Blame the royal family. This has been blown into porpotion.

Kate needs to know as well that She isn't a normal person.Just hire a private physician gz.

I'm sadden for this poor nurse, this just shows you how much your action can affect someone.

Did nothing wrong? They claimed to be the Queen of England in an effort to obtain private medical information about a member of the Royal family.

Wonder if the royal palace had something to do with this? They might have put some pressure on the hospital and they fired the poor girl. It was just a royal joke!

Disguised

Jacintha was originally from India, a country with a very active Caste and honor system and moved and worked in England which has a just as equally strong class system (much different than here in th states)...she probably felt that she had dishonored her family name, herself, her friend/colleague who took the call, perhaps had her entire career threatened by her employer whom she also unknowingly (when call was first taken) embarrassed, as the private King Edward The 7th hospital, is known for their patients privacy which is why it's "the Royal" hospital of choice...of course, she could have also been depressed (but not necessarily the cause in an Honor Killing/Suicide) and in that case, again, being ostrosized by her colleagues, her job and career threatened were the direct result of her transfering an embarrassing call that was repeatedly played all over the media, that released private information about a patient that most likely upset the Royal Palace, whom cracked down hard on the hospital for the lapse, who then cracked down hard on the nurse(s). It is without a doubt, a direct response to the DJ's phone prank. It doesn't matter what Jacintha's mental condition was or wasn't, they without a doubt caused a huge embarrassment for the Royals, Hospital, Employees and that lady's world came crashing down around her.

Well whatever you think of their responsibility for this womans suicide the station is run by a bunch of douchbags with a history of ass hole-ish stunts in their broadcasts. 2Day FM is the same station that...

"Girl's rape revelation sinks radio lie detector stunt
.
Georgina Robinson
July 29, 2009
.
Kyle and Jackie O’s Lie Detector segment turned to disaster today when a 14-year-old girl - dragged on the 2Day FM radio show by her mother - angrily revealed she had been raped.
.
The girl, who had been brought on to undergo a lie detector test about her mother's concerns about her drug and sex experience, told Kyle Sandilands before the questions started: "I’m scared ... it's not fair."
.
The mother told the presenters she was worried about her daughter's use of drugs and partying, before going on to ask the teenager if she ever skipped school.
.
The mother then asked her daughter: "Have you ever had sex?"
.
The 14-year-old replied: "I’ve already told you the story about this ... and don’t look at me and smile because it’s not funny."
.
After a pause she then raised her voice and said: "Oh OK … I got raped when I was 12 years old."
.
Sandilands hesitated before asking "Right ... is that the only experience you’ve had?"
.
The girl’s mother interrupted, saying she found out about the rape only "a couple of months ago".
.
Jackie O then said they would drop the lie detector test as they had been unaware of the rape incident."

I'm sure this has more to do with how the royals reacted to her. I'm sure they weren't too nice about the whole sitch.

The hospital blames the djs but they should take a look at themselves also. I'm sure they had something to do with it. It was an honest mistake on the nurse's part. Rest in peace.

So lying and bullying are okay? Jeez. Make up your minds already. It's Saturday, for heavens sake. The Australian radio station claims they did nothing wrong. If that's the way it is, I could be out there lying and bullying RIGHT NOW!

Guess they don't have that super cop HIPAA over there, eh? If that happened over here, half the staff would have been escorted out by security, fined by the government bigtime, and given jail sentences.
