Aussie DJ

Bragged About Royal Prank

BEFORE Nurse Suicide

12/9/2012 2:17 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1209-royal-mel-greig-tmzThe Australian DJ who pretended to be Queen Elizabeth II in a prank phone call ... BRAGGED about her accomplishment on Facebook ... right before the nurse who answered the call committed suicide.

TMZ obtained a screenshot of Mel Greig's Fbook page taken Friday evening in Australia ... a.k.a. BEFORE news broke that Jacintha Saldanha -- the nurse duped by Greig and her co-host -- had been found dead in London.

The post reads ... "Why is it that I can impersonate the queen to get private royal information but no one believes I'm the queen for a free champagne whilst out?"

Greig attached a pic to the post -- of herself and another chick, smiling and hanging out at a bar.

We reached out to Mel's rep for comment ... who said (again), "No one could have ever predicted the tragic sequence of events that followed the prank call."

As TMZ previously reported ... Greig and her co-host Michael Christian shut down their Facebook and Twitter pages immediately after the nurse's death -- and suspended their gig at the station.

I don't think the Facebook post is that bad, but it's karma that she is getting trashed for even innocent remarks. Now she knows what public ridicule feels like, since she inflicted it on others.

I really think these DJ's should be tried for involuntary manslaughter. This prank is a form of bullying. The DJ's made a spectacle of this nurse at her expense. The nurse reputation was instantly tarnished, she face the pressure of worldly humilliation. Its one thing to play a prank on some one but to publically display the prank at the expense of a innocent individual is not ok.People in the public eye should understand that its not like pranking a famous person that are constantly in the public eye and know how to handle the pressure of daily public humiliation.

You don't commit suicide over a prank like this. The woman obviously had other problems and this was just the icing on the cake.

The hospital should have had a plan in place for phone calls to royals, and the royal security team should have had a protocol for this. Would the Queen really call the hospital switchboard for an update? She would call her son or her grandson on their cell phones--this story needs to end.

TMZ is the lowest of the low down s*** for perpetuating this story. Leave it up to the race baiting, shyitte stirring TMZ to try to ruin as many lives as possible for precious "clicks".

TMZ quit trying to drag this story out it was NOT the DJ's fault she killed herself the cause of her death has not been ruled suicide even it is UNEXPLAINED maybe she had a undiagnosed heart condition who knows , even if she did commit suicide it had to have been an un treated mental issue .Stop the witch hunt on the DJ's they are certainly not bragging about her death , just a note if l had pulled a prank of and had someone believe l was the queen with a aussie accent l would have bragged about it stop acting so high and mighty

It's gonna turn into a hate crime or a bullying bs thing. It's not their fault. Tragic but she must have had other issues or was weak minded and this was a trigger. If the pop machine at work ate her money that coulda triggered it too...

TMZ...do you not see the irony in your stories on this incident?? These DJ's spoke very briefly to a person that quite obviously was suffering depression. They had no way of knowing this.
TMZ on the other hand; has now released multiple derogatory stories regarding these DJ's; despite the fact that it has been widely reported that they are both in a "very fragile" state of mind.
If something now happens to these DJ's (eg mental breakdown or suicide) due to the repeated attacks on them; will TMZ take responsibility?...or do you excuse your attacks as journalistic licence?

Stupid pranks & spunking ppl waste energy & effort. Instead why not do something positive. Embarrassing folks can ruin lives. Nurse felt dishonored.
